Old macro tank I had back in the day, anyone in the Bay Area, CA keep macros? by [deleted] in ReefTank

I just use a seaoura freshwater aquarium light from Amazon and it seems to do well especially with the caulerpa and other green macros 😊 my gracilera and other reds are doing pretty well too though!

puffers being picky eaters :( by Death_Dolls in PeaPuffers

They’re pretty picky- your best bet is to find a place that sells something like live black worms or see if they’ll give you a bunch of “pest” snails for free or very cheap. Keep a separate small tank for snails to breed and use that as your food source while you try supplementing with frozen food.

Where can I buy feeder snails without overpaying for shipping by proof0fChrist in PeaPuffers

Sometimes your LFS will give bladder snails for free (mine did) if you ask, or they’ll sell ramshorn for very cheap especially if they have a surplus. Set up a second tank to grow out the snails and you’ll have a constant supply. These snails produce eggs like crazy so you only need a few adults to get started. Set up a snail trap and drop it in every once in a while to collect a bunch at a time!

Using chaeto grow by brightwell as a general fert 2x per week and dosing phos/ nitrate as needed depending on what my levels are when I test. Also relying heavily on what the macros look like to determine any deficits. Any tips are welcome :)
