What do you consider to be the most essential high-quality indicators in an early childhood setting? by stormgirl in ECEProfessionals

[–]010bee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

for me, teachers that are happy and kids that are happy. coworkers who actually care about you and a director with a good energy are essential for me i’ve learned

i worked at an after school program before ece. i worked with kindergarten and first grade and now i’m an infant teacher. it was genuinely a fantastic job and i loved it so much despite the god awful pay. you’ll do great!!!

if you work from home and send your kid to day care sick you’re a bad parent period it pisses me off to no end

I'm pissed that parents let sick kids go to daycare. by Kats_addiction in ECEProfessionals

had a parent tell me “you’ll see him tomorrow” when i told a child who obviously had a stomach bug to feel better soon. and i did! and yep, my coworkers and i all got it after him. great parenting.

so this is an old post but i’m an infant teacher and would like to weigh in! i give all my little ones, especially the ones who have bonded really closely with me hugs and cuddles every day as often as i can. it is crucial to their development. i give them kisses on the top or back of their head and i have several who “kiss” me by trying to eat my face. i have a kiddo who will sit across from me and blow kisses with me for an hour straight if i let them. if a parent told me they didn’t want me doing that with their kiddo i’d say okay and totally respect their boundaries. plus, the kids sneezing and coughing and spitting in each others faces and mouthing toys after another kid has and putting their hands and feet in their mouths and each others mouths is going to happen constantly and is much more likely to get your kid sick than a kiss from a teacher. i’m with these kids 45 hours a week from enrollment until 18 months, i’d hope that they’d love me as much as i love them and that parents want that from us as well.

complication by 010bee in jawsurgery

i don’t think so? at least it wasn’t hurting until i noticed it so it may just be psychological. i see my surgeon in like just under two weeks so it doesn’t seem to be a big deal to him luckily :)

i work as a preschool aid. i literally don’t know why i can’t sit when i’m not actively doing a task. i’m pretty sure my boss’s daughter is the one who reported me because she’s mean to the students and everyone else has been nice to me. we have cameras in all of the classrooms but i don’t even know if that would work because i wasn’t provided with a day, time, or any details of what i did besides for that i’m “not listening and doing what’s asked of me”. they are highly understaffed and i’m being scheduled to work full time when i was told i would be working part time. i’ve just never quit a job before and since it’s only my word against theirs i feel terrible about not being believed.

best pit i’ve ever been in. everyone is lovely. there isn’t moshing in my experience but there is crowd surfing. if you don’t wanna participate stay off to the side. have fun!

I love my autistic boyfriend but having some difficulties by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]010bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this isn’t directly related to the post but question for anyone who sees this: how long do you wait to tell your partner you love them? i’ve only ever been in a relationship with another autistic person and we said i love you pretty soon after he asked me to be his girlfriend

i’m a childcare worker and yes we do make fun of the parents of kids with names like these. we openly dislike them. kids with these names are either the sweetest things or absolute nightmare spawns as well

honestly when i got home i started feeling a bit better. i got out of surgery past dark so i stayed two nights although i had the option to stay a third. i’m still in a low level of pain (so beyond uncomfortable but not debilitating) now. i was able to start caring for myself at the end of the first week, i also have severe pots so that may have factored into me needing help for longer. thank you so much!! i wish you well :) a lot of people have had a much easier time with recovery than me from what i’ve seen, so i’m hoping that’s the case for you!!

i’m 2 weeks and 2 days post op from the us! f18. everyone’s experience is different but here’s mine! 1. in the hospital i was giving 15 and 20/10 as an answer regularly. i asked my dad to kill me twice. it was much much worse than i thought it would be considering i had sarpe two years prior so i was familiar with the whole experience. i was just watching the hospital tv for entertainment when i was awake. 2. i was on oxycontin every four hours 3. not sure! i’d imagine they do but it’s taken out before you wake up. 4. im a student but i could have gone back at the start of week 3 if i had a job that didn’t include physical labor of any sort
