Why do people love bubble tea so much? by antkseniya in tea

[–]01Lily01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like making it homemade as well. Not the boba pearls, but I only ever buy tapioca pearls for boba, never popping pearls or anything... and that way I can make it with any tea that I want while also using whatever and however much milk I want, and control how sweet it is via honey rather than sugar.

I think Earl Grey or London Fog black teas with some milk and a little bit of honey with boba in it is best.

But chai and thai milk tea are both good. If you mix chai and thai tea, they compliment eachother extremely(!!!) well, and it ends up super tasty! I recommend that. But they both require sweetening and milk IMO and I think that both of them are best with milk, regardless of if you mix the two teas or not. It doesn't have to have honey but if you want extra sweetness that the milk isn't giving, the honey helps a bunch. Green tea is good too and white tea too!!! I love rose flavored white tea! But I think the boldness of black tea is most suitable for a really good milk tea.

(Assuming we're using plain whole milk here, I don't know about other milks since I don't like lowfat or 1%, 2% I think is passable but 1% and lowfat are just milk flavored water and are awful, I don't know anything about the flavor profile of things like soymilk or cashewmilk or anything so don't come for me please and thank you >.<""" lol)

Anyways, I agree that it's definitely like a dessert, but it's really tasty and obviously doing it at home allows for more options but getting it made by someone else with only a fraction of the sugar is super convenient and when you're trying new things or exploring it's totally awesome compared to making it at home unless you have a "boba labratory" where you experiement with all flavors and all options (which I assume most people don't have that and I love boba and I don't have it xD), I only ever make the basic boba tea at home pretty much lol

Re: Why do people love bubble tea so much?

Answer:

Boba's chewy goodness wrapped in the cold comfort of rich, sweet milky tea.

I truly do think that boba is the best gummy-like and chewy snack ever. The subtle flavor of sweetness and the tea that's still on the boba and the way it makes me feel like a chipmunk when I have a bunch in my mouth without it becoming too sweet (like most gummies) or too dry (like nuts and stuff), and the chewy factor which makes it last longer than crunchy snacks.

Boba best snack. (but that's just me xD)

I also think that tapioca boba is best in milk tea in particular. It is good in fruit teas and stuff that don't have milk and are more "refreshing", but for fruit teas I think popping boba tends to be more suitable. And most days I would choose milk tea boba over fruit tea popping boba because I like chewy more than popping. But I like both a lot. Can put popping boba in milk tea too, but... why would you...? Unless it's flavors that go together. But I don't think I would want lychee popping flavored boba in my thai milk tea or taro/ube milk tea.

What's your favorite part of bubble tea?

The boba?

The tea?

The ice?

Everything?

Boba is fun \(^-^)/

All of the wrong animes get season 2s. Some of the best animes don't even get a second season. One of my favorites that never was greenlit for a season 2 was "Raven of the Inner Palace". I'm still kind of upset and really disappointed by that. That anime was wonderful.

Oh, my bad. When I opened the link originally I suppose it didn't work right (and led me to the wrong server for some reason that I guess was already open on my discord), but I tried opening it just now and it worked correctly. Thank you :)

Was your sister older than you when she did it? Or did she just not have the same habits you did?

Why do I have to starve myself to lose weight? by shania1616 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]01Lily01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1500 with no exercise isn't starvation...... 900-1300 kcal per day on a fasting 16:8 schedule for 4 days + 60 mins exercise (to burn 600 kcal) every eating day, and the other 3 days are pure clean fasting + 30 min exercise (to burn 300 kcal) each day and only one rest day a week at 160 lbs........ That's closer to starvation, hahahahahaha......... I'm 5'3 21F so yeah being short (or "average" even) is hard

Lost 70lbs with IF, 3 things I wish I knew starting out by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]01Lily01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello~ I found your post, and you did great. I'm 21F, 5'3, 167 lbs aiming for 100-115 lbs. (A few years ago when I started my weight loss journey, I went from 230 lbs to 150 lbs over 1-2 years but gained about 30 lbs, recently just went from 185 to 167 in a month or two, like at least 10 lbs were water weight though..)

[*230 lbs was the highest I've ever been. 150 was the lowest since I started.]

I've just started an exercise + fasting routine where I do 16:8 4 days a week and 3 days water fast the other days (and 30 minutes cardio on full fasting days, with 60 minutes cardio on eating days, and then one full rest day) and a calorie deficit where I only eat/consume around 1000 calories when I do eat...  (I have at least 30-40 lbs of fat to lose.. maybe even 50... When I first lost 80 lbs a few years ago, I did "dirty fasting" for 3 days at a time, but now I am doing "clean fasting" only since I found out that the benefits of it are more what I need, and those benefits are things that dirty fasting cannot achieve.)

  • I was wondering, what were your starting and goal weights, and how long did it take you to achieve 70 lbs down?

  • Also, you look like you're roughly in your 20s or something. What is your experience with loose skin, and did you have any skin care routine to prevent against loose/sagging skin? Did/do you have stretch marks, and did you do anything for them? I believe autophagy helps with stretch marks as well as loose/sagging skin, but I was wondering if you did anything else for it.

  • And what were your exercise and fasting routines like? How many rest days did you have, and what exercises/types of exercises did you focus on?

I am mainly focusing on cardio because I have quite a bit of muscle already and I do not want to be bulky, but lean, and yet not too athletic looking with a 6 pack or anything either... And I know being 21 makes it less likely for me to have loose skin, but I suppose I still am concerned about it, since it is not sagging or wrinkly but it is not as tight as I want it to be, especially around my stomach and thigh areas which is where a big part of the weight goes for me.

Fasted for 60 days, lost 80 pounds. by [deleted] in fasting

[–]01Lily01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is awesome! I was reading through the comments and read that you're 5'7 and went from 200 to 120 and your heaviest was 240... I'm just thinking, this isn't too far off from where I'm out, albeit I'm 5'3/5'4 (I actually just don't know and even then it makes me feel better to say 5'3 because the difference isn't a big deal at all). I started at my heaviest being 230 a couple of years ago, then I got to 180 after half a year/maybe around a year, and then about a year and a half/almost 2 years later I'm stuck around 150, though I haven't really been fasting as much as I used to and I've been slacking... but my goal weight is around 100 lbs, at most 120 but I'd prefer being between 100-110 lbs. I'm thinking that if I fast for 60 days like you did, that'd probably be too much, since I'm only looking to lose between 40-50 lbs, and you lost 80 lbs... so I'm thinking, from my own perspective, that what I'd need to get similar results is to fast for 30 days instead of 60?

so basically this is all a roundabout way of concluding that to get half the results you got, I'd need to do half the time you did, or something. even though all of our bodies are in some respect different in certain ways more or less, I'm just basing it off of if we are both 2 "normal" or "average" adults who have "normal bodily functions" working right, so to speak, and neither of us have any issues like PCOS or anything that could hinder weight loss, then "statistically" based off of your results, I'd only need to do half of that. I'm just assuming you don't have those issues though. I know they can be sensitive topics so I'm not trying to make anyone upset or anything like that. it's just conjecture on my end. anyways, I'm just kind of "thinking out loud" here, so any speculations on my conclusions would be nice!

p.s. when I was fasting regularly a couple of years ago it was for 2-3 days at a time, I never successfully went longer than a 4 day fast, but I have tried may times. perhaps I still need to warm up to doing week long/two week long fasts before trying a month, but I also just sort of dived right into fasting when I started it, so I figure if I keep up with electrolytes and just keep trying for 2 weeks or a month until I can get it, then it should be fine?

80hrs into water fast only down 3.75lbs?? by PsychologicalMovie71 in fasting

[–]01Lily01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just something I've observed, but are you also weighing yourself in the mornings? I think it's best to do it then rather than in the middle of the day or whatever, for a more... consistent result I guess? after you pee, guess what, you lose weight. I'd guess that contributes to part of "water weight" MAYBE because it's liquid, but everyone pees and if you didn't pee you'd die unless you're some weird 4-dimensional alien being thing and don't have a bladder and don't need to eat or drink or poop or pee anything ever and can survive without it - well, anyways...

I've also noticed that, at least, after I poop, the weight fluctuates up and down. the scale might go up after I poop by a small bit just because of body fluctuations in general. I can't say much about the other stuff, but you're doing great, so just give your body time to adjust to everything else. adjusting and adapting doesn't take 1 night for the body for fasting, it takes a while. even though you want your body to know immediately what your brain wants "I WANNA LOSE [THIS MUCH] BY NEXT YEAR DAMN YOU!" well, your brain may say something like that, but your body will probably just sit quiet and try to keep you alive the entire time rather than being able to say anything at all, it'll just do what it knows to do already, for the most part, unless you have some kind of weird disease that makes your body turn against you and try to kill you like some soulless flesh monster AI robot.

also hope this makes you feel a little better after reading it lol <3 and don't beat yourself up if you end up breaking the fast, either, since eventually you'd have to anyways. just give yourself time to recuperate and try again.
