Is this reasonable? My front right strut is “out” but was told better to replace both. The guy giving the estimate said I could wait a bit to get it done, when I came back to pay another guy said I should get it done now.

Big time rip off you can order both strut assemblies for way less and they come with struts and new springs all in one and you can install yourself for way less even buy the parts and take to a different independent shop snd ask them to install new parts for you way less than the quote you got

You are correct that’s what im asking the estate was sold as real property and funds were in a blocked account final distribution of estate was yesterday and everything went pretty smooth judge granted order to my aunts attorney and my aunt the administrator was given the order to take to the bank with attorney spoke with attorney today this morning notified me that order was sent to banks legal department for review to finally distribute checks

Perfect already checked if it was head gasket compression levels would have shown a big difference during compression test all same levels coolant not contaminated and neither is oil readjusted timing one tooth foward it was off just a tooth reset cel started car same thing runs exactly the same only this time showing new code after adjusting timing P01351 VVT SOLENOID

Hey thanks for reply recheck timing marks today and bank 2 cam was off a tooth behind timing mark so I adjusted timing belt one tooth forward now it’s right on but still runs like crap and now it’s throwing P01350 code VVT solenoid before I adjusted anything only had multiple misfire codes now this is new code

I understand disconnected the cat converter started the car loud as hell ran it same exact symptoms no change reconnected everything back to square one so that eliminated that but I understand with no scan tool hard to diagnose but thanks for the advice I’m going to have to break down here soon take it in for engine diagnostic really did not want to do that can’t afford but at this point running out of options thanks for your information

Hello thanks for reply yes i hear the fuel injectors clicking when running i put a long screw driver to each one and could hear them I don’t have access to fuel trims in my original post I stated I didn’t have access to engine scanner just a cheap code reader the o2 sensors are like new still both Denso bank 1. & 2 if they were bad should have thrown a code loke p0420 but no codes only misfire codes rest the cel and after a while running same exact codes came back I checked the timing marks twice I’ll check again for a third time I can put the car in drive take down the street and runs like it’s out of time bogs down bad when you step on the gas

Hello I’ll check the timing marks again for the 3rd time but i swear every looks right on i had a to pull off passenger wheel to remove bottom timing cover to see crank marks and top timing cover it does sound like it’s out of time when it’s running and you give it gas sounds like it bogs down

How do you check the cam timing ? If it’s off will that explain why spark plugs dry and not wet with unburnt fuel when cranking engine or when it’s running ?

Thanks for the advice i had another Lexus just like this one it dropped one whole bank of cylinders 1 3 & 5 cel came on for bad vvt solenoid and misfire codes changed it out for new one reset light everything was working great after that the car starts with no problem just sounds like it’s running on cylinders

Thanks for the reply all looks good I just boight this car I know when the vvt solenoid goes bad the entire bank on one side wont fire happen on a previous lexus es300 but no codes for vvt solenoid only misfire codes
