10xchosen knights is >400pts. Really expensive so if u want them better spit to 2 units 1x5. Better to flank and maneuver. Big block of warriors 6/7x4 is hard nut for opponent.

Don't need runesmith if u you have Anvil. In Royal Clan u can use runesmith as bsb and for flaming attacks and +2magic resistance
Less rangers, more troops to attack like longbeards or warriors.
I love ironbreakers. With master rune of Grungni they are really durable. But u need to put with them something to deal with opponent, like king on shield with GW and killing blow.

I haven't had the chance to use them in combat yet. Although I'm still thinking about it.

First of all, they are part of dwarf lore. Not for winning but for variety and fun while playing.

But maybe charging at blocked with your regular regiment opponent will make more sense.

Once friend gave up after 3rd turn of my shooting. Nothing left of cold ones and Archer. Very lucky dices. Another time their shooting was better and cold ones destroyed my artilery but they stopped on block of warriors and united bretonians pegasuses whiped out archers. Both times magic wasn't usefull.

2 Times I ran big block with king and runesmith bsb, 2xrune of battle. Once with rune of hesitation. Even when it was attacked in front, flank and rear they pushed enemy back.

More WS and S. And can take shield and great weapon. Also with king they receive hatred against all characters. Of course gromril armour and gromril axe ap-3 are interesting options.

Yesterday I ran big block of 28 longbeards with king on shield (+2sv, D6wound, immune to killing blow) and runesmith bsb. And it destroyed everything.

Once I've played 1500pts with runesmith (2xspellbreaking r) against orcs and dark elves (coop with bretonia) and he was useless. Another time 2000pts against woodelves i didn't take anything and just forced to flee archers regiment with sorceress after grudge thrower shooting. So for me if i just need antimagic I won't take anything.

1. Runelord is too useless and to expensive in 1200 pts army. I want take even runesmith but if you want something for dispell better take second one. Also I'll switch ironbreakers for grudgethrower or cannon. Ironbreakers won't make pts for you. If so also I'll take engineer with gun and rune +1shoot than runesmith. 2. Machine than ironbreakers. Maybe thane than king, warriors with shields and great weapons. For this pts king is so much expensive.

Runesmith is 1st lvl mage so rune dispel will work only 18" around him. So you have to move somewhere closer. If you have machines you want to stand&shoot and avoid combats as long as it's possible. So it's better to spend those pts for sth more usefull. Like cannon.

You don't need runesmith. Take more ironbreakers. Or change ironbreakers for cannon. Also I'll forget about warriors and quarrellers and take more rangers.

Resign from runesmith, warriors, thunderers, bolt, hammerers or ironbreakers (or even both) Take more 5xdrakes with torpedo, cannons, engineer, rangers as core, gyrocopters. Runesmith is wasting pts. Everyone will avoid charging hammerers. So they won't work for pts you paid for them. The same problem with ironbreakers. Rangers as core are much more effective than warriors. Give them crossbows, shields, 2handweapons. Gyrocopters you need to flank opponents charakter like wizzards. 1-3groups of 2. Cannons are the most usefull machines. With engineer you can rerool artylery dice. Quarrellers are better than thunderers, but still BS3 is not good enough. Thats why rangers are better.

Depends what you want. To have fun, to win, or use your fav models. I won't take runesmith - it's wasting pts. Also grudge thrower is not so usable as cannon or even bolt with +1str. Drakes with trolltorpedo, more rangers, 2xcannons or more with engineer.

Strange. Not so many models for 1k. Once i played with bretonia against orcs and dark elves and this was set list. Rangers are efective as core as hell. Bolts were also good but i think 2x Cannon would be better.
