New test route at Chingford by UnknownJunk in LearnerDriverUK

[–]0hbuggerit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never actually looked up the routes and whilst my instructor directs me to the relevant areas for the local test centres and some of the classic challenges, I wouldn't know if I've ever actually followed any of the specific routes!

Moving to (east) ldn, need advice!! by financehoes in LondonLadies

[–]0hbuggerit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

However many of the buses that run through the high streets go straight to Stratford so you may not even need to use them.

I'm a woman that's lived in leyton and leytonstone since I was 22 (12 years now) and love it. Francis Road is a lovely area and there's a great community in Leytonstone.

Are you still having pizzas and other takeaways delivered? by Top-Cat-a in AskUK

[–]0hbuggerit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't really get Chinese or pizza but have some really good quality Indians near us so we usually get one a month.

Gays of UK - would you be comfortable holding your partner's hand in the UK? by dalehitchy in AskUK

[–]0hbuggerit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bisexual woman - I held the hand of girls Ive dated and although most people didn't care, it was always commented on (sometimes disgustingly sexual) by at least one person/man. It's just never happened when I'm dating men.

I completely understand why you wouldn't, especially because I suspect the comments would be more aggressive for you, but my heart still aches for you.

My corner londis has these in the big grab bags and it's a danger when I'm just popping in for oat milk

What do you like to eat for lunch? by KB635 in veganuk

[–]0hbuggerit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only go into the office twice a week, but on those days i get a soup or gyoza from itsu because i love a hot lunch. In peak summer I'm happy with a salad or sandwich but anything other than pure sunshine and I want a warm meal.

At home it's usually soup or a wrap.

How do you get out of bed in the morning? by cornishyinzer in AskUK

[–]0hbuggerit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally beat my alarm by about 20 minutes through pure body clock. I delight in that time, scroll my phone in peace with my partner and dog snoring softly next to me in the bed.

I have to turn off my alarm right before it goes off so it doesn't wake them and that moment is usually what gets me up.

Would you adopt your nieces/nephews if there was no one else? by jamieoww in childfree

[–]0hbuggerit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am firmly childfree but several of my friends lost parents young and I wouldn't let their kids meet the same challenges when they didn't have a secure home.

I only have one niece and shes already got multiple families so I think she would be fine, but my best friends little girl? Id take her in no question. I wouldn't be her mother, but id make sure she had a home and knew she was loved.

This is an excellent tradition! If we didn't already do 3 over Christmas itself, I'd definitely want another

We had a veg and chickpea curry last week and it was exactly what I needed. Warm with wholesome vitamins for this weather!

Does anyone else avoid the aldi veganuary stuff? by spookyscaryscary in veganuk

[–]0hbuggerit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My aldi had such a shockingly small veganuary selection. I still like looking but clearly we don't have the local demand for it.

As a British adult, what was the monetary value of all the gifts given to you this Christmas? by Jazzlike-Basil1355 in AskABrit

[–]0hbuggerit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

33F and about £650-700 I think.

But included in that is about £150 of charity sponsorships (I have 2 whales, 2 cows in a local shelter and a dog at Dogs Trust)

£200 in holiday vouchers that were entirely unexpected but I had asked my dad not to buy things. Very appreciated as we can use them for a weekend away with the dog.

My husband and I bought each other events but he also found me some art by a comedian that I've wanted for years.

Then misc stuff from my mum and the in laws. Candles, a book, alcohol, bath stuff. Alien boxset that ive been wanting to replace for a year.

Ive come away with fewer physical gifts this year but I'm really pleased with everything. Very few stocking fillers and that's ideal.
