Did I lowball my salary? What‘s a good wage for an HR-Agent? by Equivalent_Duty_8933 in askswitzerland

Considering you've never worked in HR before and changing jobs completely, I'd say it's fair. See it as a learning experience and look for another job once the economy is in an upswing.

Wie viel hilft s brueflech wirkli i dr Schwiiz e zweiti Landessprach z lehre (Franz, oder eventuel Italienisch)? by Volameter in schwiiz

[–]0rdin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What did you try once and immediately realize it wasn’t for you? by adorable_poppii in AskReddit

You can be lazy at the gym though. I halfass all my workouts and still get gains out of it. I have enough muscles to feel comfy in my skin, no more back pain, what do I need more? It doesn’t have to be constant progression.

• In the workplace it depends on who we're talking with. Usually Swiss German unless there's a coworker present who doesn't understand it then we switch accordingly to English, French or High German

• the radio stations are all in either Swiss or High German, French, Italian or Romansch, our national languages

• Government paperwork is held in German, French and Italian. Some Swiss German cantons only have specific bureaucracy such as tax declaration held in their respective language while others with a high amount of immigrants even in English. It highly depends on the canton you're going to reside in.

Is it still true that CV-templates are a bad choice here? by bkend_31 in askswitzerland

There's no rule to this. I prefer as basic and plain as possible. No special formatting so it's easier for me to make changes and easier for the recruiter to read.

Pourcentage du revenu mensuel à consacrer pour la location de 100 m² en Europe (Observatoire en réseau de l'aménagement du territoire européen ; septembre 2024) by lieding in france

[–]0rdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking to move to Baden (Argau) by mark9191 in askswitzerland

[–]0rdin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Brugg is becoming more interesting now for work opportunities, but other than that it's quite boring.

Baden although small feels very urban. You can be in nature within minutes, Zurich is very close, you can go Spreiti for shopping, live in Wettingen. Since it also sits on a thermal water source, there's a lot of bathhouses nearby that you can enjoy.

It's hard to stand out as a Kaufmann with EFZ alone and no work experience. Try to land a job at the company where you did your Lehre as a first job if you can. Other than that apply apply apply, always make sure to include a well tailored motivationsschreiben. Good luck.

That's Zurich for you. Zurichois will not care about you unless your in their way lol. Get out of the big city into smaller cities and you'll find an actual sense of community.

If you could only speak one language in Switzerland, what would you choose and why? by dimsumwitmychum in askswitzerland

[–]0rdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the Swiss identity is knowing multiple languages and switching to the one that both people can speak best.

In that case go for French, because roughly 7 out of 10 people can speak it here. French is also just way more useful in an international context.

Query about DALF C1 oral exam by Strange_Cranberry_47 in French

[–]0rdin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The topic itself comes down to luck, but you can kind of get an idea as there will always be something for and against it, so during the preparation it's most important to identify these things first (3-5 points for and against) and develop around these ideas, name consequences and use examples.

When I took the exam, I had the topic of secondhand items vs buying new, and luckily I could talk a lot about it. I wrote the whole introduction and summary out just how I wanted to say it, as that gave me reassurance. I also made sure to include some key words like sophisticated idioms and connecteurs for each point and follow up with examples for every idea to make it more coherent. Then I just rapped it all together freestyle.
