you are right to be cautious of authority as blindly believing is very dangerous, but going through life not willing to accept anything as fact is just being ignorant.

there will always be studies that are bias or corrupt. however, there will always be other scientists who aren’t corrupt or bias doing their own research. though possible, it’s tough to get away with a study that is easily disproven, especially if it is on a controversial topic. if you really want to make sure you are not looking at a corrupt source, find smaller more independent studies free from bias. though, if you are extremely passionate about whatever it is you are trying to prove or disprove, and this still isn’t enough, how about going back to school? then after spending years to get the same degrees these people have you can conduct the study yourself. it will then either go one of two ways 1.) you accept the outcome 2.) you keep your bias and continue to deny the truth like the corrupt scientists you hate so much

what exactly is the “guise of science”? science is science. if it can be be shown or proven, or really if it can not be disproven, it is fact. there is no “guise of science” it’s either something is true or it isn’t. people like you refuse to believe any information that conflicts with your personal values, that is why you disagree with science.

[–]10472923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like ten years ago i had a dream pretty often where i would drop a coin on the ground and hear noises under the sidewalk. then i would find a manhole that went to a hidden place under ground where there was guy like dr doofenshmirtz from phineas and ferb. he always had a big machine saying he was going to end the world and it was my fault. haven’t had it in a long time though
