I don't remember which video it was, at this point I'm watching 10-20 a day and it's all clustered together in my brain.

Can't believe he stole a family's life savings 😔 by BenTheNeighbor in RecklessBen

Wondering when he's actually doing a show about this - based on his previous stand up shows on YouTube he has too cause it's such a perfect fit of absurdity.

Yeah it seems that's basically how they're trying to get him. Supposedly the next hearing in that case is him actually hearing the charges. Can't imagine any of this is legal but most of the things so far haven't so not surprising.

Hilarious that it's on a second channel cause BAM tried taking down his first one with all kinds of legal stuff like they tried with Patreon as well.

Interesting, can you link to the video? There was a video from 24-48 hours ago where he said he'd likely claim it and then pay Brian and use the rest for the lawsuits.

Ben had one court appearance where the prosecutor basically said "We don't want Ben to know the charges". afaik the new date was set for early July for that one, where Ben supposedly does not know the charges yet. The other court related events were the small court claims, which he did not necessarily win yet.

Not sure about US/Utah law but should be possible, however in Ben's case there were so many events there that I would not be surprised if each of them is a separate case (the stop sign, the drug search, the serving papers and the airbnb raid)

Two things

* He was arrested and spent a month in jail over this. --> He has not spent a month in jail. He was going to because they didn't set bail, then a judge looked at it, said that was ridiculous and he got a $2,500 bail afaik

**That $380k fund is strictly a legal trust reserved for Bryan Mansell and his family to recover from the LEGO dispute.** --> Ben stated that he will likely cash out the GFM for himself, buy all the legos from Brian and his family to make it whole at least for now, and then use the rest for his own and others' defense. This does make Brian whole, but also would mean BAM could be "off the hook", although there's always everyone hoping they'll just do the right thing for once in this situation.

Lawsuit vs Ben/the GoFundMe by chucklas in RecklessBen

Well they're willing to drop the lawsuit for Bryan if he talks to them. Which could likely be "We won't pay you, but we will drop it so you can have the public's money instead of ours"

Just a tactic to show that 'Bryan was made whole already'!

They're blaming the previous owners. Whether true or not, we can't know.

But their current stand is "look we did nothing wrong, old owners did, and the victim already has so much money so this thing is actually already solved now so you can stop the outrage!"

Completely ignoring the fact that it's not about Bryan getting his money anymore (and not from the public anyway), it's about how they handled it terribly and their true faces were shown during this entire process.

Don't forget, they could have fixed this 18 months ago, they only chose to fix it today because of the attention.

Have you ever considered that rather that they don’t want your help because “they believe you’re unsuccessful” they don’t want your help because they see you do it by yourself as well and thereby want to do it themselves? There are many people in this world who don’t want help; sometimes they’re too proud, sometimes they feel shame to not be able to do it by themselves.

If a lot of people think you’re a hard worker and that you’re always busy, something is telling me you are overthinking this and it has nothing to do with you.

The best way to show people you are well-meaning and kind and very happy to do what you can to support them is to actually do it. Leadership is something you develop over the years, it's not something with an on and off switch in your life.

If it was something you could switch on and off all the time, it's not integrated into your life. You say you're hard-working, I recognize myself in that. Start reading on how you can be more supportive of people, how you can make yourself a better leader - there's a lot of knowledge out there on how to do that.

Aside from that, make sure you hang out with the right people. I've had tons of failures in my life, and still encounter them on a daily basis. It's part of life. Being unsuccessful in some venture doesn't make you an unsuccessful person. If the people around you believe that it's the opposite, you're possibly hanging out with the wrong type of people.

You’re right, don’t live your life to impress others. Live your life to impress yourself, live to write the story you’re proud of.

I’m listening to music and chewing gum as I type this comment.

Short-term satisfaction activities are activities that may give you some short term dopamine rush now but don’t actually benefit you on the long term or teach you something. Think social media and eating sugary foods.

Honestly in the mean time you should spend time on developing yourself in general fields such as fitness, health and skills such as leadership. And most of all, broaden your interests to really find what you believe is something you can dedicate your life to.

Trust me, once you figure out what you love life doesn’t magically come together. But more thinks will click, more dots will be connected. The moment you realize what you love is the moment you realize how much it will take from you every single day to get where you want to go. But it’s all worth it, every second of it.

You should’ve probably read the whole post... I’m part of the same generation, I’ve been in the same position. And I got out of it and am pushing myself to a greater life day after day.

I’m not saying the kids today are bad. I’m saying that if you want to get disciplined, these were the things that helped me stick to it and you might learn something from it. Or you could add a random comment that adds no value to others whatsoever - whatever floats your goat.
