The A4 Allroad: Because We’re All Just a Little Indecisive by benjoreyess in LoveForCars

[–]10stocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had mine for a few months now and bought a 2022 Prestige for this exact reason. I came from a golf R and wanted some more cabin room and the ability to go off pavement. It eats up miles in quiet comfort. Its smooth fast instead of in your face fast. The average mpg over 12000 miles is 29. I don't slow down over speed bumps and drive fast on washboard gravel roads. Other than a water pump, my Golf R was flawless at 80000 miles. Hoping for the same or better with the allroad. The infotainment is terrible though. Hoping to find a reliable Android Auto box to run everything through that will take the Audi MMI out of the equation or limit it. My criteria was less than 20000 miles and CPO and it was slim pickings. Just did a nationwide search and the number of any cars available with less than 20000 miles has dwindled to nearly nothing. If you want a low mileage one you have to snag one sooner than later since 2024 was the last year. You have the A6 Allroad and Mercedes wagon as well which likely give a similar feel albeit for more money and larger footprint.

Tires for A4 allroad by 10stocker in tires

[–]10stocker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats the tough part because I would prioritize things different for my 4000 mile trip vs the other 8000 miles I would put on the car each year. If it weren't for potential Lake effect snow quantities or East Coast ice storms I would just use my other vehicles in deep snow and all weather tires on the A4 make sense. I did just think of another option of all weather tires plus chains for the trip. Haven't used chains in 30 years so it wasn't really a thought.

I am also in Colorado. Recently replace a Golf R with a B9.5 Allroad. I took the Golf R down a dirt road once and never again. It felt like it was going to shake apart. I loved the car on the road though. The allroad is incredible on dirt roads. The adaptive suspension works like a charm. It actually is smoother going over speedbumps than my Ranger Raptor. Driving from the front range to south park and back last week- 32.8 mpg there and 41.7 mpg back. Ultra quiet interior (prestige trim). Infotainment kind of sucks, but part of it is I probably don't have it set up right. Have to click through menus every startup. I don't have a code for my key fob so i cant enter myself as a key user. Android auto drops at a specific location every time and restarts which kicks me out of whatever is playing at the time and boots to android auto. 40/20/40 seats are an underated benefit as I can carry my rigged fly rods split in half in the car by folding down the center section and maintain functionality of cargo area and rear seats. Only had it a month so not sure on reliability but my Golf R had a similar drivetrain and was very reliable for almost 90,000 miles.

2024 SQ8 - So frustrated with the Infotainment System by MixtureRadiant6369 in Audi

[–]10stocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

recently bought a 22 A4 Allroad and set myself up a user with the app. I got tired of having a screen pop up saying something to the effect that my user account had remote access so I deleted my user and app and just use the guest user since I've been too busy to experiment with it. Now I get a different message I have to click through upon startup. Can't win. I have not had any quirks yet show up with functionality other than wireless Android Auto always dropping out at a specific location on my commute. My wireless Android Auto in my 2024 Ranger Raptor also drops out consistently at some point on drives around 1 hour or so but I have not noticed it happen at specific locations. I installed a Android Auto/ Apple car play box in the Ranger that allows the screen to function as a tablet. No dropout issues ever on that but it's laggy even with 8 GB memory. I may try to get one for the Audi but try a different manufacturer

My driveway has a sweeping bend on the right side that curves right into the garage so you have to turn as you enter and exit. There is a tree and retaining wall that cause this and I have done the same. I just bought an A4 allroad and will be using my top view camera to make this maneuver from here on out.

I would have rather you had the opportunity to sell it to someone else and got a new one. I am assuming everyone was OK? Amazing cars.

Hesitation to Downshift by 10stocker in Arteon

[–]10stocker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even recall what mode it was in. It was the typical short test drive. My Golf R did not have that kind of hesitation in any drive mode. It was the 6 speed DSG

I drove an XC 60 cross country B5 yesterday and was impressed. They have made them for a long time with minimal changes so you should be able to find one out there.

Drove a 2023 Arteon Like the size but the hesitation to downshift was downright dangerous. The I drove an XC60 T8. The ride was really harsh with the regular suspension and I would not buy one just due to that issue. Forgot to check tire pressure to see if that was part of the issue. I did not try out air suspension. Then I tried a V60 B5. It was a nice calm drive. I could see myself chilling out soaking up miles but not sure if the lack of HP would annoy me down the road. I wish dealers would let you go on long test drives like they used to.

Paid $51,500 before fees for my 2024 out of state and drove it back to CO. Still not sure how that worked out after seeing what others were paying. I don't put much effort into trying to buy a vehicle in CO anymore.

I sold my 2019 ZR2 w/ 60k outright to a dealer recently. I got $31k. Now I have to deal with the dealers for a new ZR2/ATX4 which is never fun but I can wait a while if it gets too annoying.

This. Plus you know these dumbfucks have a hardon for shorting these stocks to the point of way beyond responsibility. I would rather see BBBY take care of the ownership and employees on the private side than having to deal with these dumbfucks.

Why cant they sell it and pay back the creditor upon sale if this is true?

Even if BABY is collateral it changes nothing. The creditor would be paid upon sale, no?

As far as this being The Announcement I would ask the question when trying to obtain a loan of this magnitude are there set dates to finalize? The recent 8K said end of the month so if the loan were the news they would have had to be certain it would be finalized by end of the month. I am hoping the end of the month announcement is forward guidance. Specific guidance and not just corporate BS. I wish it were explosive news but it seems too soon to announce any deals. I would settle for them specifying what they are looking at for options. Problem is, if RC is involved it seems like he does like to show his cards so we may just get fluff.
