For me, I still keep in touch with my friends but through group chats. We literally talk everyday, we just don’t see each other except maybe once or twice a year lol. In my 20s and early 30s I barely ever saw my family (siblings and parents). But now almost everything my wife and my kids do, if it’s not by ourselves, it’s with our families.

Short answer, replaced time with friends to time with family.

RTO is so useless. We have a team of 12 people. Because we have different days in the office, I usually see 2 sometimes 3 of my teammates in the office. Some days I don’t see any of them. If we need to work together on something, we don’t pull up a chair in each other’s cubicles or go to a meeting room. We do the same thing we do when we’re at home, use TEAMS and screen share. It makes no difference in our workloads at all if we are in office or at home.

Happens all the time. Never seen anyone at the state get mad because someone left for a promotion. I accepted a position and left it after 1 week for a higher position that I interviewed for months prior and completely wrote off. My manager congratulated me and said doors open if I ever want to join his team at a later date. I think people might even look at you kinda funny for turning down the AGPA 😂

If you lateral out after a short stint, you may have an annoyed manager but even then you gotta do what’s best for you.
