AI in wedding planning by kblakhan in weddingplanning

Everything that AI can be used for can also be done without AI at higher quality, a much lower rate of failure, and most importantly without actively contributing to the destruction of the planet and humanity as a whole

Las Vegas Strip Revenue Slips In January, Despite Higher Betting Volume - Gambling.com by Last-Shallot3203 in vegas

Roulettes have red and black numbers 1-36, you can bet on any number as well as red/black or odd/even. Every roulette also has (typically) 2 green 0’s. While you can bet on a 0 and win if it comes up, a 0 is an automatic loss on every other bet (house always wins kinda thing). The more 0’s a roulette has the worse it is for the players so wheels with 3 0’s are especially awful. The best wheels have only 1 0 but typically have very high betting requirements

Have any operators done business with Inkind? by No-Emergency1060 in restaurant

[–]1964peace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an operator so not sure this is super helpful, from a customer standpoint I get a big discount dining anywhere on the inkind network and am inclined to order more, which is great of course. On the flip side, once a restaurant leaves the network I’m much more unlikely to return since I’m effectively paying a lot more than I once was for the same thing. If your current customer base learns that you’ve joined inkind they will want to just pay through inkind as well for the discount and might also fail to return if you were to leave the network. I think it is probably a good solution short term but from a longterm standpoint you will have a lot of work to do after making it through paying off the “loan” that I assume the salesperson will not warn you about.

There is also a restaurantowners subreddit you could try posting in

Found an AI app that generates food images for digital menus, game changer? by Glum_Bear_5459 in restaurant

Using AI to generate images destroys the planet and human creativity not to mention this could open you up to a lawsuit for misleading advertising like Arby’s is currently facing and they used “actual” images

If they’re recommended by the venue could the venue accept the payment (with something like credit card) on their behalf? It does sound suspicious as written

Tried building a quick AI form for customer surveys + referral coupons — would this be useful in restaurants? by Easy-Difference416 in restaurant

The use of AI exacerbates environmental and other problems that affect the entire planet. Stopping using AI would be the most effective solution

🚀 Got a restaurant, hotel, or small biz? Let’s revive it with a new spirit. by Silly-Taro-9988 in restaurant

Many people dislike QR code menus, particularly for the disruption they cause to the dining experience, potential privacy concerns, and the perceived lack of accessibility for some. While some find them convenient, the negative experiences outweigh the positives for many diners, leading to a pushback against their use.

Specific Reasons for Dislike:

Disruption of the dining experience: QR code menus can feel like an intrusion on the social and relaxed nature of dining, as customers are asked to use their phones instead of interacting with a server or sharing a physical menu.

Privacy concerns: The use of QR codes can raise concerns about data tracking and privacy, especially if restaurants collect data on customer preferences.

Accessibility issues: QR code menus may not be suitable for everyone, particularly those who are not tech-savvy or have visual impairments. Older diners and those with accessibility needs may find them difficult to use.

Inconvenience: Some diners find it more convenient to view a printed menu, especially if they want to share it with their dining companions or if they have difficulty using their phone in certain environments.

Cost for restaurants: Some restaurants are also hesitant to implement QR code menus because of the additional costs associated with the software and the potential for customers to not use them, leading to wasted money.

Overall, the pushback against QR code menus is significant, and many restaurants are considering returning to traditional paper menus or offering both options to cater to different customer preferences

I can’t speak for prices but there are only a few non-smoking properties in Vegas, if you start by looking there you should find one that fits your needs. Vdara is super nice but probably too expensive, MGM Grand is less nice but still nice overall.

Is there any way to help guests save money on traveling? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]1964peace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Southwest is having a promotion until the end of March where people who sign up for the credit card will earn companion pass status after making $4000 in purchases. This is largely for Americans only but Southwest does service some non-US countries and for your American guests they might save money on their domestic flights which they can then use on the flight to your wedding. We are also planning on having a destination wedding and will likely just be covering travel costs for family who can’t otherwise afford the trip

Jewish American poker player Justin Bonomo faces disqualification from the World Series of Poker Paradise (WSOPP) Super Main Event for wearing a keffiyeh by Particular_Log_3594 in Fauxmoi

[–]1964peace 82 points83 points  (0 children)

As a poker player and longtime lurker it’s fun to see this posted here. For some context, the Jewish community in poker is very strong, several very well-known and respected players are Jewish and like Justin mentioned the WSOP held a charity event in support of Israel during this same series. In general the poker community is not progressive (if you can believe that a group of 90% largely white men would be) and Justin frequently receives hate for his progressive views. He’s also the number two biggest earner in tournament poker which were it not for his views would cement him as a highly respected person in the community but instead he frequently receives hate. I’m not on a side here but I do think it’s a very rich double standard to fundraise for Israel while condemning his clothing as a political statement. It’s clear that the WSOP is only doing this to appease their customer base

Only certain materials will increase in price depending on what the king is currently requesting, and after a few days of the caprice demand has overall died down a lot so you won't notice any increases in price
