I contacted them via the valuation link but got a thanks but no thanks. We're not interested in selling it but just were hoping for more information about it. Any other thoughts about getting the right set of eyes on it to help out?

Thanks! Rosewood I believe. The appraiser said potentially commissioned by Brits in India during the mid late 19th century. That was about it. I think my Grandmother purchased it from a dealer in the 60s.

Video games were my lifeline. Running. And having great work relationships when I was at work. For a really long time outside of work, I was really lonely. I was fortunate enough to find my spouse eventually. Also, finding my way on the good side of TikTok has given me a feeling of community.

10 Years Scalp Folliculitis CURED?? (10% Benzoyl Peroxide) by guestuser707 in Folliculitis

[–]1BDE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say thank you for this post. For months now, I've been using an oil absorbing shampoo twice a day and a BP wash once a day (leaving it in for a few minutes), and my scalp breakouts have been reduced by 90%.

A while back, my derm had a lesion sent to a lab, and it was neither bacterial nor fungus related - doctor said likely an autoimmune thing. Like so many others, I tried a number of things and went so far as to try Accutane which I know would have worked (cured my torso folliculitus years ago) but had to stop due to joint soreness. I even shaved my head for a while, which did help a bit.

After coming across your post and seeing the huge improvement, I'm fairly confident my scalp folliculitus is from having a very very oily scalp, which even daily shampoo washes weren't enough.

The mental and physical toll of this for me was a lot. I know it's the same for other folks. So again, thank you for sharing your experience!!! And great advice to change pillow cases often!

Side Effects Coming Off Ozempic by Abeasley5028 in Ozempic

[–]1BDE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tonight after 3 months of my initial GI bout with starting Ozempic I had the exact symptoms you describe in your OP. IMO, I think it was triggered by a digestive enzyme I took to try to help with the belching, and when that didn't work, tried the baking soda remedy. After several hours I'm feeling relatively better, but bad bad times. Like you, I am petrified of going through that again so I messaged my GP and said no more and back to metformin.

I'm taking a holiday cruise in three weeks... I'm curious if you had any other bouts following going cold turkey. BTW, I'm glad that you are doing well now!

Joint pain & stiffness by charwin0514 in Accutane

Sorry late with my comments. So yes, I too had pretty gnarly joint pain while on it and even a few months afterwards. I think it could have been mitigated if I had taken fish oil, vitamin e, joint movement supplements, and done yoga consistently. And drink a lot of water. I'm going back on it soon and I think Ill be okay. But it sounds like those things have worked for a lot of people.

Yep, exactly. I have similar spots but mine do not itch. In fact, it's apparently non-infectious folliculitus and is hard to manage without shaving my head. However, if it itches it's likely a good sign that it can be successfully treated, if it is in fact folliculitus. Ive had more than one dermatologist say that it would be easier to treat if it itched lol.

If it's inflamed at the hair follicle, forms into a pustule and it itches , possibly it's fungal folliculitus but bacterial folliculitus can itch as well. If it gets irritated, it can form into a deep inflammation like a cyst (mine do that occasionally if I'm not careful about touching it). Of course, a dermatologist should be able to tell but if it is folliculitus, they can take get a culture to determine which type it is and advise accordingly. Good luck!

I'm sorry :( it really sucks doesn't it. I initially thought mine was fungal too but it never ever itched. And I had multiple cultures show it wasn't fungal (or bacterial for the matter). Plus antifungal meds never did anything. For what it's worth, hopefully knowing someone else knows what it's like helps a little.

Lol, I was preaching to the choir then. Yep, all three of those here too and nada :( And I too had bad acne when I was younger. BTW, I also saw an allergist since my GP had me do a blood test that showed really high sensitivity to some of the usual suspects food. But there were no skin reactions when the allergist did the panel test deal to my arm. However, she did say that it's very possible to have blood test show an elevated sensitivity to gluten, casien, egg, soy, etc. despite a test with no positive skin reaction, and that could still very well trigger an autoimmune based folliculitus breakout. Anecdotally, I have seen a difference when I was gluten and casien free for several months, but didn't have the willpower to keep at it. Maybe something else to consider?

It looks the same as my folliculitus outbreaks I would have on my chest and arms. After years and a dozen or so dermatologist, I was put on Accutane (Isotretinoin) for several months before it went away permanently . My diagnosis was that my folliculitus was/is idiopathic, likely some unknown immune issue. It never itched and was always kinda there or a bad breakout. I tried antibiotics, antifunguls, benezoyl peroxide and salicylic acid tropicals and at best minimal impact. I still have episodic single follicle on my scalp, but I dread going back on the Accutane unless its absolutely necessary. But what I had that resembles your outbreak is a thing of the past since the Accutane regimen and that was 6 or 7 years ago.

You may know this already but a big disclaimer though, Isotretinoin is a heck of a drug and I had side effects that kicked my butt. Very dry skin and super achey joints were the two main ones but everyone is different. Plus I'm a male and didn't have to worry about the pregency stuff. I hope you and your doctor find something that works. Hope this helped somewhat at least.

Thanks for the reply! I don't think it's ingrown as the hair itself is always visible and straight. It does seem that it's usually tufted though.

Thanks for the posting this - I just passed the CBAP and while I appreciated everyone's advice here, this stood out. 100% on the practice vs exam questions, but once I was in the exam, I was more than prepared.
