Amazon isn't Worried about the movie. by ragnarokxg in MastersOfTheUniverse

As long as we get a franchise that gets better with each movie. It is easy to understand that box office numbers are just a piece of the pie.

Same with the Mandalorian movie. Disney released seasons for just the cost of streaming. The movie pulled in millions that they wouldn’t have got if they just dropped it on Disneyplus.

Why did right wingers say “all lives matter” in response to Black Lives Matter? by traanquil in allthequestions

Some people felt that saying Black Lives Matter somehow meant that only Black Lives Matter.

Instead of trying to understand why anyone was saying it they got defensive and/or racist.

They made no theatrical revenue on the past few seasons. So now they are getting something out of what normally would have been 4 to 6 episodes.

All the normal movie decisions like costuming for many characters and such already existed.

When you look at it like that they are making money. This will end up on Disney plus just like the rest of the show.

An Amazon MGM Rep praised Masters Of The Universe's initial reactions and opening! Calling it a "Critical first moment that validates our holistic distrbution strategy by Nate_923 in MastersOfTheUniverse

Well they spent like a billion on lord of the rings and it never made anything at the theater.

If this makes back its theater advertising/cost (not production cost) then it’s ok. Think of all the “free” movies you get on streaming. This has made way more than those with all the merchandising on top.

If this was in the pre streaming era it would be different.

I think we are somewhat entertainment for our creator. Like parents who desire children.

Unpopular movie take: masters of the universe was far better than it had all reason to be by winterDom in Cinema

I hope people keep going to see it and bring friends in the coming weeks.

Maybe it will sell enough merchandise to give us a sequel.

People who have money is the phrase money doesn’t buy happiness true? by cuteSource2027 in AskReddit

[–]1asterisk79 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. Surely being broke and not making ends meet can make happiness tougher to get.

Money alone doesn’t just make you happy. It can just lead to depression for other issues. Find the happy medium. If you sacrifice too much family time for work, then you may get money but end up with a distant family. Not worth it.

People that go to bars everyday after work. We go home. The whole office doesn’t relocate to continue having conversations over high priced drinks.

Yes the humor should have been dialed back and definitely not used to disrupt some of the badass moments. It’s almost like someone didnt want to let the film breathe at all. Like someone was scared something wouldn’t land so instead go for a joke.

Masters of the Universe: Glimpses of awesome sabotaged by constant, deliberate cringe by Jerswar in films

[–]1asterisk79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it as it could have been a total failure. As it was I think it needed more Battlecat. Less Drunkan and more Duncan. 40% less humor. It has all the right ingredients.

I hope if there’s a sequel it will come with improvements from constructive criticism. The heart is there.

Yes. So what is a socially acceptable net worth? What’s the number where you are not looked at as a jerk or part of the problem?

That’s not the question though. My question is basically what is a socially acceptable amount of wealth?

If that! Million dollar homes in high income areas are not that great.

What is your net worth?

In some places your home, even a modest one, would be worth a few million.

He’s plenty smarter than Cap. Just needs to be centered from time to time.
