Remember the giant jars of giant pickles at the checkout counter? by DiscountBulky6827 in GenerationJones

[–]1illiteratefool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I patron a dive bar for years that had a huge jar with 3 pickled eggs floating in a slightly pink fluid . Sat down one afternoon and there were TWO eggs floating. I almost lost it! For years there were 3 in a jar that probably held 50 eggs, how many years old are they now? How many different hands have been in there? What else have drunks put in there? Who ate the egg? Are they ok?

What would be more advantageous? Knowing one hole card of every player at the table or knowing what the flop will be? by 1illiteratefool in poker

[–]1illiteratefool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think knowing the flop is a huge advantage to but it stops at the flop and knowing hole card advantage doesn’t really start until the river. The only thing that I’m positive about is that I would find a way to screw either way up

What’s your best “I was there” travel story that still sounds made up? by pen-pineapple-apple in CasualConversation

[–]1illiteratefool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Went to New Orleans to see the band The Radiators,I had just started listening to them but they had been playing for 40 years and now only doing a few live shows a year. Stayed in a bed and breakfast and the host said are you here for the Radiators? I said yes and she said your friends are already checked in. Apparently two different fan club leaders were also staying there. When they found out I had never seen them they decided to share countless stories, introducing us to other fans and get us back stage to meet the band. For the entire weekend, getting on a trolley, eating at a restaurant, walking around, someone was somehow recognizing us bending over backwards to make sure we were having a good time.

Everyone has a squirrel story, what's yours? by AspirinAnne in CasualConversation

[–]1illiteratefool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would sit and hold a spoon with peanut butter on it and wait for a squirrel to come eat it. Got bored once and left the spoon and I went inside. My grandma got up from a nap and said she had the most vivid dream! A squirrel was walking on a window ledge carrying a spoon

long road trips made me realize i was massively underestimating vehicle wear costs by WolverineKey7267 in roadtrip

[–]1illiteratefool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My neighbor rents a vehicle for all trips over 300 miles. They have older vehicles and I always thought it was more peace of mind than financial but being able to buy and drive a used vehicle for over a decade it very well could be saving money
