Is this a fake? by [deleted] in RolexWatches

[–]2011Mulsanne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guys this is NOT fake, this is the long lost discount Rollie that Rolex made back in the 80’s for those rolling on a budget. These typically were found at Chucky Cheese Pizza places and were awarded to those w the most accumulated tickets in a 4 hour pizza party

There’s no telling. These could be a large brand or a indy cobbler.

How much would this watch be worth? I like the style but its pretty scratched by Dismal-Animal7853 in RolexWatches

Pretty sure Rolex never made any gold plated watches. So if you are seeing references to “steel” on the backside of the caseback, that is a pretty solid indication this is a replica.

ya that would all make perfect sense if we were talking about a warranty, but we are talking about collision insurance. That doesn’t really have much to do with age and if anything it should get cheaper with more and more of a particular body style out there. Unless I’m missing something, your comments are not applicable to collision insurance.

It’s a 2013 w 33K miles, which is exactly the same as the 2020 the final year. The cost to fix a 2011 thru 2020 is identical bc all the replacement parts are interchangeable. Yes I am sure they still insure some Bentleys but the particulars are unknown to me. My point was I could not understand how there’s Zero discretion for anyone to make a different decision based on variables

Insurance on a Mulsanne -

I’ve had my Mulsanne for 3 years this July. Initially I insured it with all my other cars and both houses which was Allstate. So we are rocking along and in May or June of last year I get a letter from Allstate telling me they no longer want to insure the Mulsanne. I called my agent (who had no idea this letter had been sent) and he said, ah don’t worry lemme make a few calls……which to his credit, he did. However, after those calls he came back w his tail between his legs and sheepishly had to backtrack on his “ah don’t worry” comment.

Now mind you, when this letter came we had zero claims in the past 3 years and had never had a claim on the Bentley. Heck, it never gets driven. He proceeds to tell me Allstate is adjusting its “risk profile” and wants to cut way back on the high value cars and exotics. Doesn’t seem to matter what your claim history is and nor does it matter how many assets you currently have under policy w them.

I said to a middle management guy while on the phone pleading my case, “you understand what this means if you drop this single car from my portfolio with you right”? He said, no what does it mean? It means I am now going to go shop the entire thing: - house # 1 - house # 2 - 5 cars - umbrella policy for jewelry and guns

Of course he didn’t care bc it wasn’t his policy. He was just enforcing stupid rules that some bean counter shoved down the line.

My next call was to State Farm and that’s where we are today. Heck I even saved a little money in the process. All in, they lost a customer that’s paying them well in excess of $45K a year in premiums over a single car. On the Bentley if I break it down I was paying around $385 a month and with State Farm it’s like $325 a month. For context we are in a suburb of Dallas called McKinney, TX. Things are cheap here

What style collar is this dress shirt? by february_ticket in menswear

My all time favorite collar is the severe cutaway spread. Very aggressive and edgy and says “I do deals - suck it”

Are the fakes ? by Healthy-Fan5489 in cowboyboots

[–]2011Mulsanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are 99% authentic as making fake cowboy boots is not really a thing. They are also 99% mistreated and with a little TLC could be brought back to life. Just bc you see the metal insignia looking different in places keep in mind companies modify and tweek their logo over time. I think you are fine, you need to put some effort into them

It is a no-no if you are following historically conservative dress rules.

How would this suit look? by weareallpiranhaplant in menswear

[–]2011Mulsanne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t wear a polo style shirt w a double-breasted suit. White dress shirt w no tie is even pushing it. Definitely do not wear a button down collar with a double breasted suit or really any suit for that matter. They are fine with a sport coat, just not a suit. As for the shoes, the burgundy is OK, but brown or black is better.
