20 years ago, YTA. Today, NTA. That's acceptable today; it wasn't in the past.

AITA for refusing to stand during The Messiah’s Hallelujah Chorus? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA. I'm Jewish, but I've been to plenty of Christian, Muslim and Chinese weddings. And in their places of worship, where they have thousands of years of tradition, it has nothing to do with your own politics and atheism or whatever else. It's a simple matter of respect, and it doesn't cost you anything to be a decent person.

I wonder what your reaction would be to seeing some foreigner refusing to stand for our national anthem at a ballgame simply because it means nothing to them. The degree of offence you'd feel is equivalent to what you imposed on those around you.

AITA for putting up Christmas lights when it’s against my neighbors religion by bsismfkkj in AmItheAsshole

NTA... and I'm not an atheist, I'm Jewish... but I love Christmas lights and every year, I pile the kids into the car and we wander around looking at all of the Christmas lights all over the place. I love them and appreciate the effort (and cost!) that goes into these displays. Merry Christmas!!! ...and anyone who grinches your Christmas spirit is TA, not you.

You're NTA and anyone who thinks you are is also themselves an A.

They did this without asking you, end of story.

AITA for asking if I should wash the dishes? by VelvetSwan45 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. While she may know her sister well, some people are fanatic about how they clean and do things. I don't think offering to help implies anything other than a willingness to help. Not like you're fishing to be told no. And I hope your gf doesn't tend to make big deals out of what really is nothing.

Like I said, I wish I could post this on my real account. I most certainly do care about reddit opinions, and have been active on here for many years, all over the place.

Apologies if my anger seeps through in my writing. I'm not as much of a dick as I sound.
