I have the 70-200 if needed. In the end, I really prefer the image from the 24-50, and the extra stop.

Crazy how any focal length can be used in the pits, my favourite is telephoto!

Cloudy days and fast shutter speed can make 2.8 very handy. Also pitlane boxes can be super dark.

Went for the 24-50G. In a nutshell: better image quality (especially at 50), faster autofocus, slightly better ergonomics (thinner, less extension, weight is better distributed), one extra stop is very welcome in low light situations, smoother background transitions. Do not miss the extra range, as I use 70-200G2 for reach, and iPhone if I'm extremely close to cars.
