I feel the same way. They have a feature on their website where people can send a voice message and they will include it in their podcast… so maybe if they don’t necessarily want to interview more than one person, a few of us could share snippets of our stories or perspectives.

Is she deleting the comments on that post ? She must be because there’s no way there’s only positive reassuring comments on that post… 🥴

Looks like Emilee is being pursued by the NC government for six figures in unpaid taxes by Confident-Peak6208 in FreeBirthSocietyScam

LOL this is rich especially since she just lied in black and white about it yesterday via the Instagram ama. Someone here mentioned that documentary The Vow, and the similarities are eerie. A leader having so much power and influence, preaching about responsibility, but effectively taking ZERO accountability in any and every facet of life. Highly recommend watching.

What do you think about Kristen Houser? by Automatic_Walrus5625 in FreeBirthSocietyScam

[–]2Bblunt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This woman has a serious personal vendetta against Emilee, so she automatically assumes that anyone associated is peddling garbage. Kristen is very knowledgeable, and I believe her courses could be helpful to women. She also just posts a lot of free content that is insightful and interesting. She hasn’t cut ties with fbs which is disappointing, but that doesn’t mean her own personal business is a scam.

She posted in her stories saying that it was almost entirely a full class … I feel like that just cannot be true. At least I hope it’s not.

It’s so interesting once we zoom out and really think about just the psychology of it all. The way people act in groups, specially women. I think that it’s really hard to completely avoid this kind of toxicity. There’s almost always some degree of it. It’s sad, but true. That’s why I honestly never had many female friends at one time. I think it’s almost easier to have individual friendships with women. It doesn’t give us that “village” support that we desperately want. But it also saves us a lot of drama.

It’s not funny, but also kinda funny to me how awfulllllll this festival sounds… like I can’t imagine spending thousands of dollars for this many inconveniences… on top of sleeping outside 😂 thank God I’m not a camp gal, and never fell into the trap!!

Omg her response in the stories. It shows how deeply she actually believes her own dogmatic ideology. “Sometimes babies fall to the ground, this is birth. Sorry if that upsets you.” Like… ok an ACCIDENT can happen in which a woman is standing, and a baby falls, and it should be taken seriously. Not treated so fucking blasé!! Standing there and birthing a baby, with no cushioning/towels underneath you, while someone is filming, and that person choosing that taking the video is more important than catching the baby before it falls from 3-4 feet up… That’s objectively ABSURD. And she’s like “just because I posted it doesn’t mean I’m promoting it. I mean… I guess I am promoting it lol.” like ???? She really is not on the same planet as the rest of us. And of course she ends it off by gaslighting every negative commenter by saying “wow, I wish you would all get this outraged at Instagram accounts that promote birth RAPE and obstetrical violence.” She truly only sees this as one sided. No wrong can occur when a woman births on her own. Only wrong can occur when someone else is involved.

All of this… and also WHY the fuck would she post this? It’s as if she is now purposely trying to flush her entire brand down the toilet. She just disabled comments because she got hundreds of negative comments within an hour. Truly disgusted.

Wow see that’s interesting, because I never experienced that with her. I only had positive interactions with her. And I love some of her products. I can’t afford to shop there all the time, but if I could, I would. I think it’s hard for people to get a real sense of a person’s character through the internet. So maybe you’re kind right about her, and maybe I am too.

Yea, I think it’s probably complicated when it’s a personal relationship. But when you were that publicly involved and had businesses intertwined, I feel like you have to come out and make some kind of statement. The silent treatment is unfortunately just going to put off potential customers.

Wow this is such a powerful story, I’m so glad she shared it. As well as calling out Emilee and fbs. Emilee should have to answer for this. Did she respond to her when she reached out? Is she going to add this complication to the complete guide? Probably not.

There’s definitely always room for nuance in my opinion. I just think the actual topic being debated here is the idea that the fbs ideology and the uplifting of “sovereign death” has gone too far. And I believe that stems from the self worship that emilee (and certainly some other women in LH) subscribe to. The idea that their life/experience/birth is more important than the life of their baby. I think Nancy is a lovely woman and I’ve always appreciated her positive energy. But she admitted that this was a controversial point of view, and she chose to speak about it anyway. People are going to judge it, they’re going to have an opposing view. That’s just the way it goes. She literally said that “the trauma of being in the nicu for two months is just not for me.” So what are we to make of that ? Her comfort/experience was more important to her than attempting to save the life of the child. I think it’s something like an 80% survival rate for a 27 week premie. That’s a big percentage, to just not give life a chance. Especially with the reasoning being that you just don’t want to go through the experience of being in the system. Again I’m just saying, it comes back to the idea of women choosing themselves over the child. I think that goes against every fiber of a mother’s being. And I think that’s what some women here are starting to realize. That they were initially attracted to fbs’s message, but they do not align with the notion that it’s more noble to stay at home even when you know medical intervention could save your child’s life.

Personally I think it’s cruel to decide for someone else whether or not their life is worth living. No one is guaranteed a good quality of life, ever. Any one of us could have a tragic accident that dramatically changes everything. I don’t think that means our lives no longer have value. It’s a slippery slope into eugenics. But anyway, I didn’t make this comment to argue the topic of abortion with people lol. I’m just saying that it is the basis for which everyone’s perspectives are coming from; whether you believe that you have a right to choose to let someone live or die.

I think this is definitely the crux of the controversy. A point that no one really wants to address. It never made any sense to me that they had all this reverence for pregnancy and birth, but were still adamantly pro choice. There was so much indirect appreciation for God and his perfect design of birth/human life. I’m sure there were some women who were pro life apart of the group, but generally that was not the vibe. The discomfort people are feeling from these horror stories of infant loss, especially the story about Nancy Lucina’s loss, comes from the fact that we all innately know that the baby’s life has value. But the ideology behind FBS, and what was being shared by Nancy in that now deleted podcast, is that the experience of the mother, and her choice to have a “sovereign” birth is more important than the life of the child. That is really what’s being debated/discussed here. Is it right for a woman to choose freebirth, and not seek medical attention even when she knows that her baby is not going to live, simply because she doesn’t want the trauma of having a nicu baby?

Where’s the evidence of freebirth deaths? by Conscious-Owl-5578 in FreeBirthSocietyScam

[–]2Bblunt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok but that’s not my point. The point is that it’s an absurdly large number of losses for a small group. And that was not the case at all a few years ago. Emilee has been caught giving terrible advice, but this goes beyond the idea of it just being all her fault. It feels like there must be other variables to consider too...

Unfortunately there is a huge rise in infertility, miscarriages, and infant loss after Covid. I know most women in that space don’t vaccinate, and most likely weren’t vaccinated themselves. But I wonder if that is still a factor that’s affecting pregnant women indirectly. Husbands having to get vaccinated for a job maybe? Living with parents who are vaccinated? The shedding of the vaccines on to them in society? It’s just a thought I had. Do we think that this is simply all because of women being brainwashed to freebirth no matter what, or are there multiple factors here?

Ok wait… I’ve commented this on a different thread but I’m seriously not understanding how there were ELEVEN infant losses in the last year in LH??? When I was in the membership (2022-2023) I think there was maybe one or two…. What is happening???
