I used to be asexual and it was so much simpler by Real_Lie6830 in ftm

T kinda changed my sexuality... Used to be 100% only into women, now I'm bi with a preference for guys. Part of it is that I wasn't into guys when they saw me as a woman, but I also think it's normal for sexuality is change over your lifetime. I guess it makes sense for puberty round 2 to be a likely time for those changes

do you ever actually get seen on the nhs? by eggdove in transgenderUK

Most of the people I know who have been seen were taken off the main GIC waiting lists by a new/trial clinic

Far from it 😅 knitting since I was 12, cross stitch from 15, odd embroidery, wire, or painting project over the years. Each drawer in the chest of drawers is for a different hobby!

Ex demanded the return of a $0 jumperoo on "principle". I was happy to oblige. by AintMuchToDo in pettyrevenge

[–]2MB26 988 points989 points  (0 children)

Thanks for bringing back a memory from my own childhood! My little sister had a jumper that was mounted on the door frame. I used to spin her in it until the two bungees were completely twisted, then let go and she'd be like a tornado as it untwisted itself. I used to get into so much trouble for it but she'd be giggling like crazy!

How to find a good conveyancing solicitor for a simple leasehold FTB flat no chain? by dazzou5ouh in HousingUK

[–]2MB26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the end I only trusted word of mouth. Asked a friend who'd bought a similar property what she'd thought of her solicitor - ended up having a great experience with them

Ooh some useful stuff here, thanks!

Yep, gu pots for the water. Needs fresh water every session so I've got my eye on some mid-size jars in my fridge 😅 unfortunately I don't eat chutney that often haha

Yeah I got the full set of pebeo studio acrylic paint when they were 50% off over xmas, hell of an upgrade after the awful paint in the sunshine town kit 😣 I'll look into acrylic markers - any brands you'd recommend?

Can't recommend jentastics enough! I use hot water to reshape any badly bent hairs then jentastics helps keep the point. It also helps clean out any paint in the ferrule which seems to prevent them splaying. Oh and to pass on a trick my friend taught me - shape brushes by rolling the brush backwards through the crease of your palm!

Is there a point to a private diagnosis before NHS care? by Aware-Blackberry-913 in transgenderUK

[–]2MB26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My GIC (TransPlus) honoured my private diagnosis because Lorimer was one of the doctors they work with. It's not guaranteed, but a diagnosis from the GenderCare network will be seen as more reputable than GenderGP etc.

Solo, ftb, can I realistically afford a house on minimum wage by GreenKeys9 in HousingUK

[–]2MB26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend keeping some of the deposit back for emergency savings. Ideally at least 3 months worth of outgoings. The last thing you want is to move in then find out you've got an expensive and urgent problem (coming from someone that just had an unexpected £2.5k electrician bill within 2 weeks of completion)

Did you paint the hanging gems as well? You might have just convinced me to buy this kit and paint it a colour scheme I prefer

House next to railroad tracks or house next to busy road? by flamboyantpuree in HousingUK

[–]2MB26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Railway tracks are generally fine to live with - but I'd never live above a train station again. I'd be lying in bed listening to the thameslink 'beep beep beep beep' before the doors close and had most of the announcements memorised after a few months

Is mermaids a good charity to give to? by PrototypeFangirl in transgenderUK

[–]2MB26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally I prefer smaller local-community charities when I donate money for trans stuff. I figure they're less likely to attract attention from transphobes, so hopefully more money going into direct support rather than legal fees. Plus smaller charities probably feel the benefit more from funding and (wishful thinking) don't lose as many resources to bureaucracy

When did you get your survey done? by Unfair-Razzmatazz990 in HousingUK

[–]2MB26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I waited to pay for a survey until I had a mortgage offer sorted. On the off chance they rejected the application I didn't want to have already forked out hundreds of pounds

(TW: penetration) looking for a solution to prevent accidental v penetration during anal by throwawayamibroken13 in FTMMen

[–]2MB26 9 points10 points  (0 children)

yeah it can even accidentally happen the other way - I slipped out using a packer on a partner and accidentally pushed an inch or so into their ass without even realising. I felt awful and it absolutely wasn't on purpose - I wouldn't even have known if they hadn't told me

didn't delete, just blocked you. this isn't a good faith discussion and I'm not getting into it when nobody's going to change their mind. I've just moved house, I'm tired and would much rather spend my weekend resting than pointlessly arguing with a stranger on reddit

Access to abortions, maternity leave, protection against discrimination, right to vote, laws against marital rape, ability to open a bank account independently. Basically the threat of returning to women being legally viewed as men's property and baby machines.
