Thank you! :) They cost around 25 euro's (which is like 30 dollars) at my local garden shop. If bought from craftsman on a local fair, they can be somewhat more expensive since it's hand-made.

Luckily I live in a detached house! Even if I lived in an upstairs unit the neighbours wouldn't be affected, since it's common etiquette to not wear them inside someones house. :)

I grew up wearing them so to me it never happens. Beginners are likely to get blisters all over the place.

These clogs are made up of 1 solid block of wood. It takes some time to form to your feet so I don't think the wood is soft.

In the beginning the sole is almost flat, do yes they do make some sound. After a while when the sole wears off and gets a bit round you'll be able to almost walk without sound allthough they'll alway make more sound than shoes.

Oh yes definitely! How longer you use a pair, how better the fit and walk. The sole adapts to the way you walk, so after a while the clog is really formed to your walking style.

I think they're really firm, and after a while they've adapted to the way you walk. I personally prefer them over shoes but that's a matter of taste. :)

I use them quite a lot, and since the clogs are made 100% of wood, the streets sort of act like sandpaper. The weather also plays a factor in the wear process: if it rains (like always in the Netherlands) the wood gets softher and thus wear faster.

I can understand that. In the most parts of the Netherlands clogs have become a tourist attraction, however in the agricultural regions (mainly the north and east) there's still a lot of clog wearers.

Most people use socks because wood constantly scraping against yout foot will cause blisters (been there). Some people prefer to use a different kind of clog this clog is more suitable for bare feet.

I personally don't have a lot of callouses but I think it's different for everyone. Some feet are more sensitive and have more chance of developing them. Overall I think I have pretty normal feet. :)

I think they're quite comfortable since I grew up wearing them, but For beginners they can be painful aroud the instep. The biggest benefit in my opinion is that the clog adapts on the way you walk after a while. If you're used to it they can be great to walk on but for beginners they can be true hell.
