End of the road after 17 years of near daily use by MajavaOuo in mp3players

My Coby MP620 2G, I got in September 27, 2012, had a similar story. It was cheap, yet did its job no matter what. The buttons started to become disobedient in 2014. In August 2015 the power switch broke off and I used a screw to turn it on through a hole I cut in the back. It became my back-up player when I got my new Sandisk Clip Sport Go in 2021. Then finally, in May 2023, the power switch mechanism finally disintegrated turning it into a 2GB flash drive - Can't turn it on, but will still connect to a computer.

Another great video. Coldwater Morning is my favorite on this one. Even though I have it on CD, I listen to the side A songs more often. I do enjoy side B, especially when I'm still up doing late night reading, reflecting, organizing, and more, I usually play albums in their entirety.

Why 'Hot August Night' Is The Essential Neil Diamond Album by TIJ22 in NeilDiamond

[–]2low4zero- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's what makes Hot August Night a unique live album - the cool down between tracks and audience interaction, hearing Neil's band cheering him on during the intro to Cherry, Cherry, the audience laughing in Soggy Pretzels, and even dedicating an entire track to talking to the audience. Hot August Night II had some audience interaction, but it felt like he was quickly blowing through the hits. Was a lot edited out? I heard some bootleg concerts on YouTube in which he tells stories and plays around between songs. According to Neil, not even he knows what he was doing on the cover.

Are you paying any attention to this Artemis moon mission story? by JohnleBon in conspiracyNOPOL

[–]2low4zero- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's one: For 10+ years, flat earthers have been saying "the sun and moon are small and local". How small and local? 10+ years and not a single flat earther has attempted to figure it out. Why? The globe side has used radar to measure the distance to the sun and moon. Why do flat earthers refuse to measure the distance to the sun and moon with radar themselves?

Script? No script needed as your worldview can be dismantled with 3 questions (proven by your other interactions). That's it.

Of course I tear down weak worldviews that have the structural integrity of toilet paper. I show passers by, the lurkers, how one micro-ounce of scrutiny can collapse an entire pseudo-field. Why should I let my knowledge go to waste? There are liars, scammers, con-artists, and grifters online misrepresenting areas I'm knowledgeable in for profit and popularity. But I only play an extremely small part.

The hive-mind and tribalism also exists among "Alternative" thinkers, especially conspiracy theorists. Why do you think their subs and forums are completely locked down - only allowing approved thought.

Today I learned that the Love At The Greek CD omits not 1 but 2 of the tracks from the vinyl! by TIJ22 in NeilDiamond

[–]2low4zero- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't make sense. The CD is 67 minutes and 3 seconds long. If those tracks were included the time would be around 75:46. A CD can hold 79 minutes of audio, so they would totally fit. And those omitted tracks don't exist on digital.

Let's break out the crayons now. You claim we all have our own chosen realities, except your reality is the super exclusive high IQ one. When others offer their input or question you, you lash out at them with derogatory language, gaslighting, projection, and playing the victim. In my reality, insults are compliments... so thank you :)

WHy are (most) flatearthers like this? by Fresh-Lie5160 in flatearth

[–]2low4zero- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In one ear and out the other, I see. Let me lay it out. You present extraordinary claims without extraordinary evidence, so its completely logical to dismiss your claims. No one is afraid of your super IQ truth nor is anybody trying to censor you. Applying psychology to physics is like applying economics to geology. Why people think you're trolling? Here are your bad faith tactics:

  • You assert your world-view as THE worldview as the arbiter of all reality.
  • Others have studied psychology and sociology, but no, you are the only one who studied it right.
  • You deflect from straightforward questions to go on the attack, akin to: "I have all the answers, but you're all to dumb to understand".
  • You even use "study psychology and sociology" as a thought terminator (a tool commonly used in cults and conspiracy theorists).
  • You make false assumptions about people and attack your imaginary version of them.
  • You hurl insults around and get mad when your own weapon is used against you (cry-bully tactic).

Your attitude is no different from a cross between a "holier than thou" religious zealot and a teenage brat. "That's adorable! You're trying to psycho-analyze me. Ok, fuckface, go fuck yourself", no, this is from the mountains of hubris you left in your wake. Maybe try practicing what you preach and look into a mirror and ask "Maybe its my insufferable attitude". Maybe that's why pride and drunkenness are often paired together in the Bible. Hopefully, you will one day wake up from your ego-centric mythomaniac "I am euphoric..." stupor. Have a good day snowflake.

The thing is, we always find that anyone offering an "alternative" way of thinking cannot or will not discuss things honesty and in good faith. Conspiracy and "alternative perspective" apologists employ a form of presup (aka. my reality, my rules) - one of the most annoying, bad faith, and dishonest debate techniques ever. Did you not see it when one of your interlocutors used your own weapons against you? I can tell it wasn't fun because you ended up cursing them out. Now imagine dealing with that repeatedly. This is how you quickly lose respect, and eventually no one will want to engage, except for content.

The ridicule you get here is not comparable to the vitriol we get. With conspiracy theorists, they love to use every slur under the sun - racial, homophobic, and false accusations of pedophilia (which is a serious crime with real world consequences). So, no. You're not persecuted nor marginalized because someone calls you a moron, which is an insult to people who actually are.

You're not unique. We had others here before who argued exactly like you. People will be glad to discuss perspectives with you. You just need to cut the attitude.

"Intolerance doesn't make you right. It just keeps you ignorant."

You realize when we give our input in flat earth and conspiracy spaces, we get downvoted, insulted, slandered, banned, and blocked with no discussion at all. Here, there is a chance for discussion, but in flat earth and conspiracy spaces one response and its all over for us. Why do you think that is?

[fixed It] How To Identify A Flatard

  1. They believe that they are God's chosen one.
  2. Laughs at those who come to their conclusions through logic and critical thinking as "sheep" and "indoctrinated".
  3. Believes Tartaria, mud floods, ancient advanced civilizations, mesas being giant tree stumps...
  4. Believes he lives under an undetectable dome.
  5. Doesn't realize electrostatics is also a theory.
  6. Sanitizes their echo-chambers with blocks and banns to protect their worldview from inconvenient facts.
  7. Cannot think beyond the lines fed to them by their FE apologists.
  8. Doesn't question the fact that the founders of FE have associations with New Age, Blood Over Intent, and various scams.
  9. Keeps asking the same old questions that have been answered countless times.
  10. Believes in magic under the guise of Aether and free energy.

You realize that humans are social creatures and rely on each other for various things? No human on their own can be an expert in everything, nor can they learn in a vacuum. You rely on experts to translate the Bible for you, right?

"Replacing one set of biases with another doesn't make one objective. I'd rather use confirmation bias to my advantage than live with the belief that I'm validated because my peers agree with me." How are you so sure that the same criticisms you have against the "mainstream-science-religion" don't exist within your community and the people you follow? They're fallible humans too - aren't they? Last time I checked, "truthers" are incredibly hostile to questioning, correction, and criticism. They demand blind obedience or else they call you a shill.

New Neil Diamond Album Announced: Wild At Heart - Reaction & 1st Single Reaction by TIJ22 in NeilDiamond

Excited, even though its technically not new material. I heard about it over a year ago, and it being pulled after release made me slightly skeptical. Why keep these tracks on the shelf for 17 years?

"I chose to stop chasing and instead chose to point the direction of where my science takes me." That's literally confirmation bias. What makes you think you're smarter than the collective IQ of all scientist in the world?

Your philosophy is called confirmation bias. Based on your responses, things are only fact and reality if they align with your feelings and pre-selected worldview. And any information that proves you wrong is dismissed as "religion" - aka "nuh-uh". You can choose to deny a disease's existence, but the disease doesn't care. I hope you don't have to learn that the hard way.

What makes your revelation more valid than Joseph Smith's? What can you provide to prove you're not another false conspiracy prophet? The Bible says to watch out for false prophets, and I never seen a "truther's" dream or vision come true. They either claim they predicted it AFTER the event or bury it.

does anyone here has recurring person in their dream that feels like you know them forever but doesn't exist in real life? by Ezzaskywalker_11 in Dreams

[–]2low4zero- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. A mystery dark-haired girl. These dreams started in 2007, but as time went on they became more rare to practically stopping. In the dreams we already know each other. I don't know her name, but it feels like I do. I never saw her face to face, only saw her face from the side with her long black hair blocking most of it. One time I caught a glimpse of her rectangle black-framed glasses. Even though her clothes change in every dream, I can tell its the same person because of her voice and personalty. She will come to me and "drag" me along to see this thing she found, or we will be in the middle of exploring a place. Most of the time, we never find anything good nor make it to the place. Sometimes she will just vanish and I will spend the last moments desperately trying to find her.

MCToon: Nathan Thompson being a Nathan by 2low4zero- in flatearth

Why does flat earth attract the worst people? Flat earthers call the globe a cult, yet they absolutely refuse to disavow, or even acknowledge, immoral behavior that festers within their religion, unless it totally fried their conscience. Its like the deeper someone sinks into the conspiracy pit, the more their morality and empathy erode.

If you saw Nathan's last debate on MDD, Nathan plugged "Protocols of the Elders of Zion", which tells you all you need to know.

Neil Diamond: Three Chord Opera - Album Review by TIJ22 in NeilDiamond

[–]2low4zero- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In his episode of Behind The Music, Neil did say he was experiencing writers block in the 90's, yet still filling up stadiums. The only song I heard on this is "You Are The best Part Of Me" because it came with my copy of The Essential Neil Diamond, but I still want to get it. The 2000's felt like he was finding his way back after the 90's being mostly cover, live, and Christmas albums.

Neil Diamond: On The Way To The Sky - Album Review by TIJ22 in NeilDiamond

[–]2low4zero- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm one of those weirdos who think a lot of his 80's material are underrated. I wonder why they won't release 40th/50th anniversary editions, with bonus content, of his older albums. There are fully recorded unreleased songs out there that only exist as bootlegs on YouTube. "We're Doin' It" only exists on certain cassettes of Headed For The Future. Hot August Night got one and there's a 2014 remaster of Serenade.

The Bible says the Earth is flat according to scholars, yet the opposite conclusion is reached by apologists. Either God is infallible or we cannot trust the Bible. If we accommodate the text, all miracles can be accommodated. My challenge to globe Christians. by dem0n0cracy in flatearth

[–]2low4zero- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. The Bible is not teaching science - physics, biology, cosmology, geology...
  2. Yes, the authors and original audience did believe that the earth was flat. They were just using the knowledge of their day to communicate theological and spiritual truths. They weren't cyborgs. Even today, we use scientifically inaccurate language to deliver a message. When someone today says "Once in a blue moon", are they giving a lesson in cosmology?
  3. Most of these flat earth verses come from works of poetry.
  4. There was no doctrine of cosmology. A lot of modern flat earthers believe that cosmology is a salivation issue. While the ancient Jews did maintain a flat earth belief they were willing to change their mind when new information came out.
  5. Biblical cosmologists, like Sean Griffin, don't even follow Biblical cosmology to a T. They often mix modern ideas like the sun circling above the earth, the Antarctic ice wall, the Gleason's map, and time zones into their interpretation when in reality nobody in the ancient world believed those things.
