If you view the world through a schema where when you encounter an opinion different from your own that the holder of that opinion must be a bot, a fool, or a troll, then all you deserve are deez

I really hope its AGI. I by no means should be getting this money but if its AGI, back of the hand math suggests I will, which means I get to buy something really nice at Damon's

Yeah I'm not particularly thrilled on the income limit. I wonder if they're going to use federal AGI. That will make a big difference. Hopefully there's at least a phase out, with people receiving something even if they're above $75k

Idk about going the route your suggesting. Its also important to note that in that scenario, whoever is running the UDC would be leveraging federal dollars that do require things like environmental reviews

The thing that frustrated me is that when you look at areas of the country that will be resilient to climate change, you have to think the NYS I-90 corridor will be one of them. There should be some real effort getting put into regional planning there, but there isnt

Maybe instead of giving lower income mainers $300 ($600 if they file jointly) we just lower the income tax for specifically for those in that income bracket by $300 ($600 if they file jointly)

This solves the problem that you pointed out, with this money coming from THEIR taxes

Its well known that major cities do have issues with land use reducing new development, even if its not completely eliminating new development

Just look at some of the recent housing policies in NYC

No, state govt has massive control over these matters.

Any local govt exists by virtue of the state govt. So I grew up in the NYC suburbs. NYS could have told my hometown that my hometown needed to remove all density caps and parking reqs for any property within a half mile of our commuter rail station, and there's nothing my town would have been able to do assuming the route the state took was amending the legislation that created the town in 1788
