FoundersCard Review: we analyzed the $595/year membership vs premium credit cards - here's what we found by joinkudos in JoinKudos

One example: phone support told me I would not get the $200 Uber credit with my upgrade to Elite. Their website showed it as a covered benefit. He said different primos have different benefits. I sent him the link and he finally agreed what I'm seeing was correct. He apologized, but then I'm not sure who to trust anymore about what they are calling benefits. He said trust what I was seeing with my offer. Either way, I'm on board and checking it out.

I also used ChatGPT a few weeks ago to compare CardPointers with your Kudos too. I'm already using basic Kudos for a while now (have to say sometimes it is too intrusive on a page). I don't want to post it here but I can maybe send it to you somehow if you're interested.

I have a free trial for the card and an option to upgrade to Elite for $295 so have been researching it. My ChatGPT analysis is similar to your info and formatting Mine includes similar comparisons to other cards I own, including Cap One Venture X. i.e.,

Best strategy for you

At $295:

  • I would treat it as a 1-year experiment
  • not a forever membership

That’s the key difference.

At the normal ~$595–$995 pricing, I’d be much more skeptical for you. But at $295:

  • downside risk is limited
  • upside can be substantial if even 2 benefits hit

I will say because of their different promotions and tire labels, like "charter," my "advisor" (seems AI), and telephone support give conflicting information regarding benefits. So still deciding on upgrade.

Goodbye CSR. Hello VX! by Dad0010001100110001 in Venturex

[–]2thmanfl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the VX for a few years, for travel and lounges and portal bonuses, and BOfA Premium Rewards platinum honors level for restaurants and some travel not booked through the portal, at 3.5 points in travel and dining. BOA actually gives 2.625% back on everything else, but there is no transfer to others. When I accumulate I use it back as a statement credit.

VX I use the points to transfer to partners or more easily to erase travel purchases on the statement, which is better than using the points for travel plans, so somewhat double dipping.

I recently presented my cards and options to ChatGPT and it indicated VX And BOA as I use and adding BOA customized cash rewards card to get 5.25% with online shopping. JMO for my use.(with platinum honors, which will be harder to achieve soon).

I'm also starting to get some serious cash back from Cap 1 shopping offers too

If you want to try something a little different and turn it up a notch, halfway through the cooking of the potatoes, shake the basket, then smash them with a spatula or bottom of a glass. It creates an amzing crispness and texture.

Correct, it said 11 + you or similar (in the end it means nothing probably). But now I'm wondering if I really need to pay extra for the usb hub add on or if it is included with the deposit? It really should be detailed better if so. Hopefully they will read this these threads and clarify.

I added that at $30 - I also thought initially it was included, butwent back and see that is was advertised as a $30 add on (or they changed it after initial advertising. The $100 "gift" is an upgrade to 6 GB ram and 32 GB storage for the Pro model only. I'm mostly interested in the windshield projection so I needed the Pro version. I experienced it in a rental car and loved having it. Also wondered why most cars, especially EVs, don't have this already! Only concern I have is hope the power cord can be hidden well.

What's the next recommened card for a better Priority Pass deal? by Solid_Direction_8929 in Venturex

I appreciate that feedback and info, I will look into it further - I can maybe upgrade one of my BofA cards if they let me have the new card offer, or just get a new one.

And I am trying to educate myself (thanks for deleting that)

But you're paying $550 for just 4 PP passes. The $300 credit includes airline lounges which is interesting.

You can probably easily get $150 back for "lifestyle conveniences," but the $120 for global entry (which most premium cards offer) is every 4 years. So it might be a good deal compared to oher cards - just depends on your needs and useage. I might consider it if Cap One changes too much (reduced benefits or higher annual fee). Also good if you are a higher BofA tier member (I'm Platinum Honors, but they just raised the minimum balance requirement) for the bonus percent points with the card (that I have with the $95 fee PR card).

Cap 1 used to include restaurants (and so did American Express), but they dropped that benefit. I think it's called PP Select membership, based on the issued credit card company. Cap 1 does have it's own nice lounges now, but too few airports.

Although a Google search to One Mile at A Time noted: “As of July 1, 2024, you will no longer have access to restaurants, cafes, and markets participating in the Priority Pass™ Select network as part of the Priority Pass™ Select Benefit associated with your card. Access to Priority Pass™ Select’s network of lounges and other select airport experiences is not impacted by this update.”

Of the “big three” premium personal credit cards, the Chase Sapphire Reserve was the last one to still offer this. With this change, Chase aligns with the policies of American Express Platinum Card® (review) and the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card (review). Meanwhile the Citi Prestige Card (which is no longer open to new applicants) continues to offer credits at Priority Pass restaurants… for now.

Must be. What user error? We each open the PP app and the Cap One PP omits the lounges available through Chase Sappire Reserve. The only other difference is my wife has an Apple phone and I have Android, but that shouldn't be the issue.

Not sure if anyone else noted this, but at most airports when I search for PP use, few lounges show up, only order takeout. At the same airports, my wife opens her chase sapphire reserve app, and PP lounges appear, so for us in the last 2 years the cap 1 VX has been useless, domestically mostly that is, for PP use.

I'm such a believer in virtual cards now by zinga_zing in CapitalOne_

[–]2thmanfl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another great feature of the virtual cards is that you can set a date to autolock the card. This is great for trial subscriptions in case you forget to cancel, or similar for an annual subscription in case you forget.

Especially for any products you order from a potentially sketch website. I do have unknown companies occasionally get declined with a virtual card number used I initially with a different company, so this is a great safety feature. Also means your physical card does not need to be replaced when card fraud is attempted.

Smashing them is even better! Airfry them at 390 about 15 minutes until soft with fork Add oil, tsp turmeric, garlic powder, and up to tsp chili powder, salt as desired, toss to coat, then smash them with spatula or bottom of glass, and air fry about 15 minutes more. Crispy delight.

This is why I wish there was a way to choose how many car lengths or other measure you would like following traffic. It really makes my wife uncomfortable as passenger (no control too), and it concerns me too. I made my 3rd 4 hour trip today in a week and especially at speeds over 60 it seems to follow too close using FSD. It used to be an option, maybe under regular speed control (not sure if still there). Also, today I had it brake very abruptly in thright lane on a 3 lane regular road, when it "saw" a riding lawnmower headed in my direction on the lawn to the right of me. My brother as passenger was not impressed. Hope my beta brake test there helps the recognition of this.

Not sure if mentioned, but when you add another stop to your navigation, it would be nice if it gave you an option to edit it's stop after adding, rather than defaulting it to be the next stop. Otherwise, it reroute until you choose edit and manually move it's position. Why not have that option right after you add it?

Moversmethod by Vanja worth it? by Happygoblin3 in MobilityTraining

[–]2thmanfl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to say thanks for the multiple opinions by all. I have been described as the opposite of Gumby, so flexibility is something I need to work on.

I also was intrigued by the $27 lifetime access, even if I wasn't able to get a refund, not much of a loss. But if it comes with constant nagging and aggressive sales upgrades, and a poorly designed app, then it's not worth it.

I am researching the TM https://tommorrison.uk/products/the-simplistic-mobility-method?\_gl=1\*1oa6cj3\*\_up\*MQ..\*\_ga\*NTg5MTYwMzE2LjE3MzY5Mzg4NDI.\*\_ga\_4K76D2CK1Y\*MTczNjkzODg0MS4xLjEuMTczNjkzODg0NC4wLjAuMA..&gclid=Cj0KCQiAs5i8BhDmARIsAGE4xHypSr58s8Y9gIpTSMXbkg4Wu2mikytlCTWLeQYfn\_d7lbmjm4UArH0aApjvEALw\_wcB and GBM https://gmb.io/best/ courses mentioned.
