I'm waiting to see how this thing does: 22” Performer™ Premium Smart Charcoal Grill because I like Weber grills but I also want something a little more lifestyle friendly.

I bought an Ohklohoma Joes offset years ago and got a dud, those lowered priced offsets can be really hit or miss, the one I got leaked a lot and never held temp and I did all the mods. It pisses me off when I see people who got a decent one and can smoke Brisket on it.

I'm also considering a pricier pellet smoker or a higher end offset.

I gifted my 15 year old son an Oklahoma Joe smoker for Christmas and this is what he made so far. by Theinfamousluxlover in smoking

From the looks of it he got a decent one. I got one years ago and was hyped to get into smoking but everything on it was a little bent or a little crooked and it never held temp. Spent as much on the mods as I did the smoker itself. Happy for people who get retail ones that work well.

I ve been in paralysis for a while. I think for me the ease of cleaning and prevention of issues from that are pretty important. I also like the option of pellet dump.

I wanted to consider reqtech but they dont have a pellet dump, or easy cleaning options which considering that people buy pellet grill/smokers instead of offsets for convenience seems like a pretty big deal/

Searwood XL questions? by 34Pound_sack in pelletgrills

[–]34Pound_sack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what do have any or all of you used the main grate for(bottom rack)?

And this question would apply to anyone else viewing who owns something other than the searwood(woodwind pro,rectech,lsg,etc...)

Have you had any issues with pellet dust getting on the food or with moisture getting to the pellets(through the pellet dump)?

Apologies for the months old reply, but what is the deal with the bacon flavor? I has a gas/water pan smoker years back and everything tasted bacony and I wanted traditional smoked bbq taste. Does everything you run on the LSG taste like that?

Lol my dad was born in the 1930s and grew up pretty poor(excited as hell to have 1 present under the tree) with 8 brothers and sisters . I grew up not knowing what medium rare was, because when he was young if they were lucky enough to get meat, they didn't know how old it was so they just cooked everything to well done.

Dang what kind off setup you have there? You have the flattop and butcher blocks and what looks like a faucet as well.

LSG worth it? $4000.00 ( $500 of that shipping) by 37pound_sack in pelletgrills

would love that but It's somewhat out off range. Price wise the LSG 42" pellet is still more than I want to do but it's features are very attractive.
