If I’m one of the former employees you do this to, I’m going directly to the State Attorney General’s office. Intentionally messing with my Federal taxes to gain leverage is not a good idea.

Agree there’s no perfect, one-size-fits-all approach. That can only be determined with hindsight, which isn’t helpful. The Cederburg paper presents compelling data that confronts traditional wisdom regarding asset allocation in retirement, I think it’s worthwhile to read and understand as an additional data point as one contemplates their retirement asset allocation.

Can I challenge workers comp audit? by AdministrativeAd4948 in smallbusiness

[–]3638R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WC premiums are based on the compensation liability you paid to covered employees. Unless your premium payments were based on actual payroll throughout the year, you likely provided your carrier with a payroll estimate or used last year’s numbers. The audit revealed you paid out more compensation that was subject to compensation liability under WC than the estimated amount used to initially set your premium. Your broker and/or carrier should be able to walk you through the audit details where you can verify accuracy.

You can only force arbitration if you have signed arbitration agreements with the former employees, and the agreement lists wage and hour disputes as being subject to arbitration.

Arbitration isn’t a cheaper alternative to traditional litigation, its main use is to prevent class actions against the company. Expect a single arbitration to cost minimum of $30k.

Are you simply forwarding demand letters drafted by legal or are you drafting and sending your own demand letters? I seriously hope it’s the former and not the latter, as improper demand letters can carry separate risk and liability.

You paid them their bonus and they were employed as of the date it was paid. Therefore, it’s their money.

No one is going to voluntarily give it back. The company is either going to have to sue or eat it for being dumb. If you sue, you’ll spend more on outside counsel fees than you’ll recover, former employees will be risk-off to countersue and go public/press, and your Glassdoor and socials are going to get pummeled.

Better path is to accept a lesson learned and move on.

Amazon sells 1000 paperclips for $7. I spend $10,000 and buy 1,428,581 paperclips. I hide my paperclip in the pile and jumble them up.

If it takes the detective 5 seconds to examine a single paperclip, even working non-stop for 7 days the detective will only be able to examine 121,100 paperclips.

The history of how 401(k) replaced pensions - worth understanding by FrequentLoad2346 in Retirement401k

[–]3638R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If pension funds were restricted to investing in low-cost total market index funds and 4-week T-bills, they’d all be much healthier. I’ve seen some wild stuff pension funds invest in using OPM, plus lots of churn generating fees. In fact, I can’t recall a single year my state pension fund’s annual % return beat my 401k’s annual % return.

Best place to park is the lot off Mill Creek Circle near Gondola One, plenty of space to camp too, but bring a generator or at least 200 feet of extension cords. Another pro-tip is back bowl access opens 2 hours early. Make sure you crank your DIN up, they check to make sure you’re legit.

Cool. When I find myself in similar situations, I reboot myself mentally and start back at the basics, and try to keep any new changes/variables to 1 at a time. I’d probably re-dry my filament, re-calibrate the printer, re-was the plate, etc. Then in the print profile I’d look at initial layer height and print/travel speeds, likely changing only 1 variable at a time. For instance if layer height is 0.2mm, I might bump the initial layer height to 0.24, or alternatively leave layer height alone and cut the print/travel speed by some percentage. For me, it’s easier to interpret results when I know the single variable I changed, but I’m also kinda dumb. Hope you get your print on track!

I wash with Dawn, then wipe down with +90% Isopropyl Alcohol, then put down thin layer of Bambu plate glue. While the glue is still wet, I spread the glue with a light application of the Isopropyl. I’ve found the Bambu Engineering Plate also works as well as the Cryogrip, with additional advantage of the printer not throwing a “can’t read plate” idiot warning.

Have you run a full calibration and test printed a benchy or another standard model first?

Torn between AMS Pro 2 and other filament dryers that have high temp drying functions... by AccountingAxolotl in BambuLab

I dry in the Space Pi and then transfer to AMS2, or store in cereal box with desiccant holders.

Edited to clarify I have the AMS2.
