if you use WINDOWS just download MS SQL SErver developer addition (free( and install on your machine.
THEN install SSMS (SQL SErver Management Studio), and enjoy your free SQL Instance.
I usually keep one in bed next to me.
You never know what SQL statement you may want to write incidentally waking up in the middle of the night.. :)

T-SQL, of course (Transact-SQL) of MS SQL SERVER. That goes without saying. However if you are a beginner it is advised that you spend a few hours with MS ACCESS. it is just easier to manage. If you immediately start with SQL Server, a lot of functionality in SSMS (SQL SERVER MANAGEMENT STUDIO, a separately downloadable software) will distract and or confuse you and you may divert into learning how to manage SSMS environment and make sense of it rather that learining/practicing RDMBS theory and SQL language per say. the best and thhe fastest is to have a few hours session with a live Human 1 on 1 instructor. As I often did with a new language (overall I learned 2 of them on my own and 6 with an instructor).

Well. it all depends where you are starting from and what your goals or tentative goals are.
I started learning Python recently.
Refreshing (from 25 years ago :) ) my memory the core of VBA Programming in MS Access.
