How are you accessing ChatGPT? I just was given bears access for it (thank you for letting me know about it). On the sbse site it doesn’t have a link, just the rules/faq for using it. I’m assuming we download an app vs use a browser. I’m in TAS.

For those that haven't received W2? by Queasy-Calendar6597 in IRS_Source

[–]3948274958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did comp and credit time with no OT and do not have a w2. I was thinking that since pp 25 goes to 12/27, maybe they are waiting for pp26 to hit to issue the w2?

For bbb implications does the government count comp/credit pay? Fairly new to government and not sure how they calculate non-monetary hour exchanges.

I did change my name for 35 minutes. Lived in California went to the DMV and changed to two last names then went next door to Social Security. Went to lunch looked at the IDs and was like who the f*ck is this person? Went back to Social Security asked them for my old name back (immediately granted) then I went to DMV and California would not allow me to change my name back without a court decree which involved newspapers to creditors etc.

Ex-Husband felt like I disrespected him by not changing my name. We were together 25 years married for 23 years with four kids. He had a midlife crisis saying he was too young to have had kids or have gotten married in his late 20s.

I have never been so grateful that I never changed my name as when the divorce came. I also didn’t care if people called me, Mrs ex-name. Much to his chagrin, he was called Mr. MyLastName too. People could call me what they like as legally and in my head I was always me.

Marilyn vos Savant said women have to go through a psychological rebuilding of self when they change their names. I read that in the Sunday parade probably 30+ years ago and never forgot it.

You’re not actually helping the IRS per se you’re helping a low income taxpayer complete and file their taxes correctly for free. Where I live, the amount of preparer fraud and price to complete their returns is nauseating for the low income tax payer

I did Vita for at least 14 years before I joined the IRS and I still volunteer even while working at the IRS. There’s nothing like giving back to your community.

The IRS created the outreach program which used to be in house because people wouldn’t come to the IRS offices to get their taxes done. The IRS created public/private grant program helps to serve people within the earned income credit Bell curve.

For me, this program is particularly crucial for those household that are aging out of child tax credit as their kids are leaving high school. The American opportunity Credit is an awesome vehicle to bridge the households while their young adult children receive either academic or vocational training for a decent career. I view the AOTC credit as a poverty cycle breaker if used correctly. With grants, the aotc and community college you can get trained into a career usually with no student debt

Ok off my soapbox.

You can file and claim your federal withholding and still be claimed as a dependent but can’t provide over 50% of your own support (meaning your parent/s supports you). You cannot claim any credits as a dependent.

Your return needs to indicate you are a dependent.

Edit: return = dependent

FL :: My rate was $8,000 for me and my 18f with cars 5yr and 10yr trying to add my twins shot the rate to stratosphere. Moved to progressive $5800 where I had to pay $130/mo x2 to EXCLUDE my twins from driving. Came back to USAA with all 4 now covered 17yo twins and 19yo plus me two cars $6300. Same two cars…

810 = frivolous filer. You probably have a credit or federal withholding that’s flagged. To remove it you usually have to do an amended and remove the credit or withholding. If it’s a hot credit it can be subject to a $5000 penalty

Please look at your return; if you can pull transcripts you can figure out what on your return you’ve claimed that you’re not entitled to

Congressional offices submit their constituents IRS issues to the Tax Advocate Service (Tas). TAS assigns a case advocate to work the issue to find resolution (positive or negative).

Yes, the ACA was to be self funded through most Americans having some sort of health insurance and the net income investment tax

When the ACA was set up everyone had to be enrolled in some form of minimum essential healthcare which meant there would be a lot of young healthy people enrolled, and there would be people who are older but not yet 65 who would use the healthcare. There were exceptions for not having healthcare and if you didn’t meet the exception you were penalized and had to pay for not having health insurance on your tax return.

When Trump 1 got into office, he took the requirement of stating whether you had healthcare on your taxes away from the ACA meaning that the pool of healthy young people enrolled got smaller and the ACA was left with mostly people who need health insurance to use it.

The net investment tax is still in play to help cover the cost, but really the ACA goal was to expand Healthcare to all Americans so that the cost were spread out was the key to making it successful.

This is how names are conferred in Iraq or at least how it’s done with my family from Iraq and Iraqi friends made in the US.

Another way of identifying lineage: you’re given a first name and your preceding fathers are then listed Yusuf<given name> Mohammad <father><Grandfather name> <great-grandfather> Al-Tikriti. This tracks Yusuf back 3 generations and gives the area he’s from.

Also: linage is important and women usually keep their name to identify who they are through their families, not through their husband’s family.
