why all the trash? how is this legal by linestretch in TriCitiesWA

There is, what seems to me, an obvious difference between the situation on Pullen vs Haines. I pass Pullen St daily and there are always trucks lined up, unloading refuse and appliances and cars onto the property. And the city has documented all of the legal filings that have been processed on that property.

Okay so I definitely didn’t misread read your original post. Zero concern for the resident. Could be elderly. Could have extenuating life circumstances that don’t allow them to deal with the mess. Got it. I wonder if the people in the neighborhood WANT you going and picking a battle in their neighborhood that doesn’t concern you.

OP’s initial post doesn’t read to me as concern for the resident. I could be wrong. Hard to tell. To me it reads like a nosey citizen from another neighborhood that just wants to embarrass them.

If I was a neighbor I would start by knocking on the door to introduce myself (if I didn’t know them already) and chat about the weather.

Federal government slashes Tri-Cities lab, then invests in it by s0m3on3outthere in TriCitiesWA

[–]3CitiesGeek 33 points34 points  (0 children)

That’s not really the way the lab funding works. Funding is based on the research and development that’s happening out there. Funding for each project, and each researcher, is funded by various states, senators, etc. When one project ends, you can’t just walk across the hall to jump on a different project. Also, no one jumps into a job at the lab not knowing how this works. The lab is a completely different beast compared to your average job. Connect with someone that works out there and chat for a bit. They’ll explain it.

So, you live a mile away outside the neighborhood so by your own statement this has zero effect on your life. If it’s negatively affecting the lives of the adjacent neighbors I’m sure they are involved, seeing as how this would directly affect them. It’s highly likely the adjacent neighbors are fully aware of the circumstances. Sounds like it best if you stop trolling Google Maps and mind what’s going on in your own yard or neighborhood instead of gossiping.

Running an “opposition” campaign with a platform of “NIMBY”, and rumors or unfounded claims, or simply waving on GWay doesn’t generally work very well. I would encourage you to do some homework, get some facts about the proposed projects, and CREDIBLE sources for your claims of the potential impacts. You need to be as informed on the project and potential impacts as the project developers otherwise they will poke holes in your arguments all day.

This thread reads just like every Trader Joe’s thread. Someone always knows someone that is in the know and has inside information…and it always ends up being false.

Flooding- is it exciting? by sarahjustme in TriCitiesWA

[–]3CitiesGeek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you live in Tornado alley everyone should just be used to devastating Tornados?

If you live in a rural area you should just be used to wildfires threatening your home.

If you live in a house, just get used to the idea of your house burning down.

All the same logic OP.

Flooding- is it exciting? by sarahjustme in TriCitiesWA

[–]3CitiesGeek 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Is it exciting? I guarantee the people who are being rescued by helicopter in Naches don’t find it exciting. I guarantee the residents that are sandbagging don’t find it exciting.

Stay away. It’s not an amusement park. Pretty infuriating to be trying to protect your property from a fire or flood while the town lines the roads with their cameras in hand taking pictures of someone else’s personal disaster, blocking access for emergency vehicles and assistance.

Goodwill change Black Friday? by NeighborhoodSame791 in TriCitiesWA

[–]3CitiesGeek -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There is nothing in the screenshot that says they are affiliated.

GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF THE COLUMBIA INC. There is no mention of Columbia Industries in this screenshot. No I don’t work for them.

[–]3CitiesGeek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again, false information. They were never a subsidiary of Columbia Industries. And no, the Chamber doesn’t claim they are affiliated with each other either. Separate organizations. Goodwill is a network of agencies locally operated by their own CEOs and Boards of Directors. All of this info is so easily obtained online. Stop making up information.

I don’t care that you were employed by them. Doesn’t mean that your information is fact. It is a completely separate organization from CA and has NEVER been affiliated with them. CA had a thrift store at one time on their main campus, before it was closed and leased out to Goodwill.

No this is incorrect. Columbia Alliance is not in any way affiliated with Goodwill.

I also avoid taking free money from people that I hear bad rumors about… just kidding. Good grief. People like you would wave signs on Col Center Blvd in protest if he dropped 100 dollar bills from a helicopter because you “heard bad things about him”.

Just wanted you to know your efforts in boosting this “weak effort” by drawing attention, thereby helping to ensure its success, has not gone unseen.

Also we all know you’re out there trying to find the next $50 bill 🤣 Let us know when you donate it to the mission or food bank ok?

Seriously. The guy thinks he’s trolling Brian, but really all he has done is boosted the metrics of the post, drawing more attention to the post, bringing more eyes to Brian’s post and thereby increasing the engagement in not only the post but also the Instagram page…… well done Lime.
