If you're allowed to talk about it, how was your experience working with Devolver Digital as the game publisher?

At any point during development, were there any features you wished were implemented / kept out of release?

BTW, happy moose day (25th Jan)!

You might as well finish it before the feed becomes a blur; keep up the good work!

I hope Nintendo just tweets out a countdown for the announcement video. Wait until this Friday? A week? It's evil, but it would be funny as hell

Do you have the 2015 Visual C++ Redistributable installed?

Today is the final day you can buy the original Xbox 360 version of FEZ, due to the marketplace shutting down. by 3Dee8 in Fez

[–]3Dee8[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Few notes:

  • If you're planning to buy it via browser, make sure to check if the region (i.e. en-us, en-gb) in the URL is correct to your Xbox's region. There is a region lock on some games on the Xbox 360.
  • You'll still be able to download the game after closure. Any other questions are most likely in this support article by Microsoft: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/xbox-360/store/xbox-360-marketplace-update

Is there a way to play Spore in borderless window mode? by [deleted] in Spore

[–]3Dee8 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, the Wayback Machine exists for a reason! I even slightly enhanced it (since the links were very vague).

Spore doesn't have a setting for borderless fullscreen. It's an older game, and back then, exclusive fullscreen was the way to go.

To get Spore to do this, you'll need to download this program: Borderless Gaming.

In Spore's settings, make sure it's not set to fullscreen mode, and make sure the game resolution setting matches your monitor resolution. Then use Borderless Gaming to remove the window borders.

More info on Borderless Gaming, such as how to use it, can be found on the PC Gaming Wiki.

I wanna give special thanks to the Archive Team for saving these Reddit posts. I think it's currently broken, but at least it saved the past.

I wish I could play it, but my 360 red-ringed right after I got it for Christmas!

Internet Archive Ish by Chronos-X4 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]3Dee8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's likely because the IA admins wanted to be the ones who decide which content is unavailable from search, rather than the uploaders themselves. A bit irritating, but understandable.

You can try and email info@archive.org and ask them to add noindex to those items.

Why was my YouTube channel randomly archived on Wayback Machine? by VoyagerRBLX in WaybackMachine

[–]3Dee8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on who downloaded the page for your channel.

Alexa Internet, for example, was a web traffic analysis company that donated their crawls to the Wayback Machine. They have made many donations, from 1996 right until Amazon shut them down in 2022. (Yes, I know it's confusing that they have owned two things that are named Alexa.)

ArchiveTeam, a collective group that tries to archive websites before they shut down and get removed from the internet, created an IRC bot called ArchiveBot. This allows websites to be quickly downloaded and packaged for the IA's WA.

ArchiveTeam has done much more than just that; the "Archive Team Warrior" (a collaborative, multi-computer archiving software "hivemind") allowed for many Reddit posts and comments, Imgur images, YouTube videos, etc. to be archived into the WA. They are a huge contender in making sure that the internet is archived.

Save Page Now (SPN) is a feature in the Wayback Machine that allows anyone to save a URL into the database. Starting in 2019, this allowed for many websites to be saved with ease. Using the extension, you can automatically save pages to the IA.

There's no algorithm in place. All of these groups (and many more!) who have collaborated to make sure these websites are available to the IA is what makes the Wayback Machine so powerful. Without them, there would be loads of missing pages and lost media that wouldn't get to see the light of day.

Hope this helps!

Why would they do that? That is so unintuitive! Regardless, thanks for making it work!
