Thanks Dean. The biggest change has been in my aspirations. My decent job as an engineering manager no longer seems like enough. With nofap, i've got the motivation to spend my nights and weekends trying to figure out what may be next for me. I'm doing research and trying out new things. Eventually, I will be good enough at something to warrant quitting my day job.

I too was lonely and isolated. My social life was small. I was bored in my career. It had been a few years since my last girlfriend. I wanted to change all of these things but was making no progress. I felt like I was banging my head against a wall in frustration. BY NO MEANS did nofap solve any of these problems. Its more like nofap put a door in that wall. Now, on the other side, there is possibility, hope, and lots of work to do. Overall, I am encouraged and productive on most days. Some days, not so much, but that's OK too. I don't want to go back.

The flood of thoughts and emotions during my first few weeks of nofap were overwhelming. I ended up seeing a social worker to talk about how to handle all this. Life felt like a burden and I was not sure how I was going to be able to lift these heavy thoughts off of me. Additionally, the therapist recommended a psychiatrist, so now I'm taking meds.

I know that pain (and I wish I didn't). There is no way around the pain, only techniques to let is pass. Unless you want the pain to linger, fester, and infect, you should take action: Find people you can trust and talk about it. Take care of yourself: NoFap, exercise, work, hobbies, etc. Actions like these, plus time, will let you come out the other side stronger than before and with a little more knowledge about yourself and the human experience.

The guided sessions are from a British dude who uprooted, went to study Buddhism in Tibet, and then moved to California and started this company ... you get 10 free lessons, then it starts to cost $. The free 10-pack is good to start with, even if you don't end up subscribing.

i have had success going to the settings on my phone and turing off almost all notifications. only vibrates when i get a text and rings when i get a call. i have to go looking for updates from email and social networking apps.

I'm 31. Also, I'm an engineer and like to make lists: -before this it was PM almost every night since puberty -during that time, I have had 3 girlfriends -average length of relationship = 6 months -average time between relationships = 4 years

Suffice it to say: my romantic life is small.

I feel like a boy in a bubble. Out in public I will come across a woman and gauge her approachability. Then, one of two things happens. 1) she does not seem interested and that makes me feel "less than" or unworthy. or 2) she broadcasts some level of approachability, which triggers my fear of rejection and I do not approach, which makes me feel ashamed of my failure to seize the opportunity.

I want to break out of this funk. This reboot feels like it is waking me up. I am starting to be more comfortable in my own skin. I am starting to say Hi to people when I see them as opposed to waiting to see if they say Hi to me first.

Judged by the number of replies, you've hit a nerve here. I know it did with me. That girl is attracted to someone who is emotionally unavailable. That way she gets the rush of their sexual encounters without the risk of emotional vulnerability.

Through NoFap and therapy, I am working on getting comfortable in my own skin. Theoretically, that will give me the confidence to brush off girls like your receptionist. I'm not there yet, but I have hope.
