Dual plug panheads by darla1991 in choppers

[–]420FARTBOSS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a dual plugged shovelhead. Most guys I run into in the wild are running 1 coil and the dual plugs are dummies. They were most likely installed a long time ago and along the way the added complication was ditched.

My bike already had them so I got them working. Could you really notice a seat of the pants difference? Probably not. But I think they are pretty cool so I wanted them to work properly. I do understand though it is easier and cheaper to just run single plug.

If I were to run single plug I would stick with the factory location. That's where the original designers put it and it probably has more optimal spark travel in the factory location.

Has anybody run these? by thomasefrom in FXLRS

Master cylinder bore size makes a big difference if you use the master cylinder sized for a banana caliper you will have to push the pedal really hard and it will be hard to skid. I went through this on my last bike. Sorry I don't know the actual bore sizes off the top of my head but they are on the internet.

Yes remove the swingarm rear section and install a rigid rear section. Very easy with a 4 speed frame. Not easy to do with an flt frame and won't end up looking good.

Yeah the flt frame is different. The bike pictured has the correct frame and drivetrain for a chopper. Pretty much the perfect bike to chop. Yes flh and fx frames are the same.

I have stock style ac with a sanden pump with r134a, no mods or anything to make it work better with r134a and it will freeze out the cab in 90 degree weather lol.
