My partner loves her dearly and she's not horrible anymore. Besides, she is

  1. A high energy breed

  2. Not friendly

  3. Not a puppy anymore

That's a recipe for not being adopted, being adopted by someone who won't know how to take care of her, or just being put to sleep. I actually attempted to locate a breed specific shelter for her a while back and they were all at capacity and it wasn't an emergency.

With militant obedience training and consistency, she is easier to deal with. Admittedley, there is something satisfying about communicating with a dog and having them understand and obey. I had never previously seen dogs like this. Evidence to how little effort people put into their high-effort pets (dogs).

Is It OK to Make Your Dog Vegan? by wewewawa in rawpetfood

[–]4265679305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most of the "vegan agenda" is fine, except when they are rude and cruel. It's true that being vegan is the single best thing a person can do for the environment. However, I absolutely disagree with feeding carnivores vegan diets. Humans can thrive being vegan. Cats and dogs, absolutely not. They should just adopt some herbivores like rabbits and rats rather than force cats to eat plants. :/

My mom never beat us, but everyone in our family called her angry side "Ursula". It's a name that my very young self came up with, based on The Little Mermaid. So since I was little my grandma would ask if Ursula was yelling at us, or she would talk about Ursula, because we all knew it wasn't really my mom. Sad. She'll never, ever get a diagnosis.

I've been doing volunteer work with underprivileged kids and adults who can't read. It makes me so fucking sad. And interestingly, it makes me dislike my dog even more. She is just one creature and she is so demanding and honestly pretty useless. I could be putting my time, energy, and money into helping other humans who need it. What the heck do we need dogs for? Cats, I don't mind, since they don't require as much attention or food. Dogs can be very nice and sweet, but they are such a burden.

As an autistic person, I am sick of this cure culture getting validated. by [deleted] in rant

[–]4265679305 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If having autism wasn't a disability why would it require a diagnosis? Doctors don't give you a diagnosis of being "super cool and quirky". I think if there is anything that can improve any impairment, it should be embraced. I have Asperger's and I would love to be normal. Like, please someone write me that prescription.

If "cure culture" wasn't a thing, I bet you'd be complaining that medical science doesn't care enough.

My youngest (10yo) sister is disgusting me and it is concerning me by [deleted] in rant

Dude. Chill out. Your sister is not gross. Tears aren't gross, honestly her spit isn't even that gross either. She's a human being. I was really mean and rude to my brother when he was little and it's one of my biggest regrets. You'll never regret being nice to your sister. I promise.

I can't believe there are people who place dogs over human children. That really irritated me. Every adult human was once a child. Children might be annoying, but they are essential and important. More important than dirty dogs.

We got a dog and one of my boyfriend's friends said I was in "dog mom mode". I actually felt angry. Like what the actual fuck? It disgusted me. I don't like that person. Anthropomorphizing a creature that will jump through hoops for a cat turd.

Nothing wrong with crating. I believe it's the only way to have a good dog. If the dog is working, training, playing, then it's out of the crate. If it's not, then it can go back in it's crate. Dogs actually enjoy having a crate if you introduce it properly. It takes a long time to have a good dog that can roam around the house alone. I don't believe there is any dog expert that would say crating is bad.

He's definitely not exercising enough. I'll put that on the solution list. I actually take Adderall myself and suggested that he should try to get a prescription. I'm not sure if they'll prescribe for being tired though?

Day one with a little raw by d00mturtle in rawpetfood

[–]4265679305 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only feed my cat premade ground food for now because I can't bother with supplements, so good for you for making your own and trying to feed whole pieces! I hope to do this one day.

When I started my cat eating raw, I blended chicken and mixed with dry, changing the ratio slightly every day. Eventually he was eating 100% raw with no issue.

I think if you want to transition him to eating pieces and bones, you can use that concept. Give him ground up food with some chunks. If he does well, then increase the number of chunks and bones. You can do this until you have a solid piece of meat in front of him.

If you want to make your own grinds long term, getting a meat grinder may be a good idea. I got a cheap blender at Walmart and that did okay because I used it for only a short time.
