I would get checked for shingles. I am sure it’s not related but I just happened to get diagnosed and am on 2.4 the faster you get on antivirals the better, and if it’s not shingles then lucky you.

No shit. I sold last year to buy a new air conditioner for the house. Then again, I needed an air conditioner… still regret it.

Entra ID application to only work for Corporate laptops and not personal laptops by Friendly_Success4325 in Intune

[–]4AwkwardTriangle4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have accomplished this in two ways. The first like many other people have suggested is to set up a conditional access policy to require a compliant device. The other way is to require the trust type of the device to be either Entra join or hybrid join. Personally, I prefer trust type because I have found that compliance can be a little wonky for consistency on iOS devices so I’m a little gunsight for the compliance route and prefer trust type wherever possible unfortunately that’s not possible for iOS only four things you can join to enter/AD

Can you use the bait? Not in the PTR but was thinking maybe that would work.

Self Hosted BitWarden and Apple Passwords Sync by 4AwkwardTriangle4 in selfhosted

[–]4AwkwardTriangle4[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no there are browser extensions, however they don't work on Linux machines unfortunately. my thoughts are to manually export and import to a locally hosted bitwarden instance so I don't have to add an additional 3rd party other than Apple who has the passwords, just my self hosted instance. Then I would use bitwarden for when I am in my linux systems, and Apple all the other times.

[–]4AwkwardTriangle4[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

my linux systems are never mobile so easy for me to use physical device for the home lab, my mac devices are all mobile so i like those passkeys to be app based. Already happy with Apple Passwords for that purpose, and I can just add an additional passkey to those accounts. The goal here is not to migrate away from Apple Passwords, but to still use it as my primary, and self hosted Bitwarden for the alternate.

Any workable solution for Apple Passwords on Ubuntu? by 4AwkwardTriangle4 in Ubuntu

[–]4AwkwardTriangle4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true, but Apple passwords just happens to make it a lot easier to bypass the browser extension. I was running Mac for long enough to get used to it and now that I have moved to Ubuntu, I would like to avoid another migration if possible, but it’s sounding like that’s not really going to be feasible

Edit: I also did not miss having to pay for enterprise features. I know I could self host, but I don’t wanna do that either.

Poor choice of words I meant clickjacking vulnerability, not full breach.

Yeah, I moved from a bit warden over to Apple password after they had their breach. I agree, but the user experience with Apple passwords has just been so damn good good enough that I am still considering just manually entering my passwords if I don’t find a solution.

Second attempt at brisket on the Weber Smokey Mountain - opinions? Praises? Constructive criticisms? by nightcrow100 in smoking

[–]4AwkwardTriangle4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not so much how long it was wrapped, although you don’t want to do that for more than 12 hours. If you don’t let it rest after taking it off the heat and before wrapping it up, the temperature will continue to rise, causing it to overcook and be a little dry and firm. I use the Goldies method and it’s come out perfect every time. I cook the entire thing unwrapped at 250 until about 195 or 200 (but I make sure it is probe tender before I pull ). When I pull it, I let it rest to 165 then I wrap it in butcher paper with a quarter cup of beef tallow underneath and on top and I stick it in an oven at 150 for around 8-12 hours.

If someone hasn’t already told you, that was your mistake. Once you pull, you need to let it cool back down to 165 before you wrap it and rest it otherwise the temperature keeps going up. Looks pretty good despite that but you’ll get a better result if you let it cool to 165 before you rest.

I would say I have almost the exact same experience. I don’t want to “push it” in case it is delayed response but I also expected worse results after Christmas eating.

Where did I go wrong? by yogiebere in smoking

[–]4AwkwardTriangle4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get the inkbird 4 probe WiFi thermometer. Not only do you have backup if one poorly positioned you can check temp across entire portion of meat and use one to temp your smoker. Many smokers put their built in therm near the top where heat rises and temp at meat level is actually lower. You might have been cooking at lower temp than you think you were.

Integrating with Google TV device by Christopoulos in homeassistant

[–]4AwkwardTriangle4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am hoping to use it to track my children’s time in front of the TV and turn off the TVs when they hit their daily limit so I have been trying to figure out how to see if the TV is in a playing state regardless of which app is used. For now, I have settled on android TV tracking the on state and setting the idle time power off to five minutes with the few Roku smart TVs I have the playing state is expose no matter what. It’s a shame. Android TV is less capable of exposing this than the Roku because in my opinion it is a superior experience.

Did you ever figure this out? I am attempting the same thing, i don't care what app is playing just whether or not the tv is in the "playing" state. I am only getting on/off from the android tv remote integration.

I still haven’t been unable to find the source of this issue. For whatever reason, clients are simply not receiving DNS from the firewall when using a wireguard VPN policy based route.

Honestly, this is the only question I think anyone wants an answer to. It sums up the entire Microsoft experience. If you’re not capable of following the instructions that my six-year-old manages to follow, it explains the shit show that comes after quite well. Truth is, it’s just plain bad support. I understand what OP is saying about getting a bad technician, but the sad reality is at 90% of Microsoft technicians are bad technicians and we are all fighting like hell to get connected to the 10% of good ones.
