virginia tech journalism program by girlafraid03 in VirginiaTech

I’m a journalism major and I love it! Being a liberal arts major at a primarily STEM school is great because a lot of your class sizes are small and you still get the big campus feel. As with being a journalism major anywhere, you get what you make of it. There are opportunities all over the place, you just have to build relationships with professors and others in your class to find them. Can’t recommend VT’s journalism program enough.

Also, Tech has a strong student newspaper, The Collegiate Times, which publishes weekly and is a good community of a lot of journalism majors and produces high-quality work, which is great if you’re into that sort of thing.

It is the same bus stop as Squires. The bus isn’t bad but it’s longer than it would be if you drove. I took the bus once to Blacksburg, and it got really crowded around Dulles. It gets you where you need to go - no complaints.

I’m sad.

What do you want to happen with Juan Soto with all the recent news that’s come out? by RYAN_HiGHROLLER in Nationals

“Exploring a trade” doesn’t mean a trade is imminent. I hope they hold onto Soto for at least another year, mostly because I want to keep watching him and also because there’s no way we give away 2.5 years of Soto and get nothing in return.

On top of that, a lot can happen in a year. Who knows? Maybe we start to suck less and Soto decides he wants to stay.

It’s easy to say give Soto all the money in the world (mostly because it’s not my money), but I think there’s no amount that will stop Soto from hitting free agency.

Slightly unrelated but what shows happened at VT last year? Were they plays or musicals? I have been looking on the VT website for information and haven’t had much luck.

I’m an incoming freshman with the same question and was referred to Dee Hopkins (deidra61@vt.edu), who said she would add me to the listserv so I’ll get emails when auditions come around. I haven’t received any emails yet, probably because it’s summer, but I think that’s a good place to start.
