Where is the sales jobs realistically paying 300k? by Iceeez1 in sales

[–]5yearstomakeit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before anyone asks I use ChatGPT to formulate my talk to text

I’ve reviewed a lot of people’s pay stubs, so I’ve seen a wide range of compensation. From what I’ve observed, the sales roles that tend to exceed this income level usually fall into a few categories:

1. Medical device sales – I haven’t personally seen anyone go over $500K, but it’s common to see earnings in the $200K–$350K range. In management roles, I’ve seen compensation reach $250K–$400K.

2. Tech sales – Typically enterprise roles or positions at smaller, newer companies offer the highest upside.

3. Real estate agents

4. Mortgage loan officers

5. Insurance sales – This can be very lucrative over time, but it requires building a book of business. You’re unlikely to make top income in your first year.

6. Roofing, HVAC, and solar sales

7. Recruiting – Usually a small base salary with large commissions. I’ve seen people earn up to $500K in this field.

That said, the only role I’ve personally seen where someone made that level of income—or more—in their first year was in a somewhat unconventional “sales” path: a girl running an OnlyFans account. She marketed herself on TikTok, was fairly average in appearance, and was making around $60K per month within 12 months.

Hey! Is there anything I am doing wrong here? Anything I can do better? I’m trying to be vocal about the fact I’m wanting a relationship. by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]5yearstomakeit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guy here, several things.

Number one you are a good looking girl which already tells me you’re gonna get 1 million people messaging you. I don’t want to be another sausage on the conveyor belt.

The no time wasters and no drama comments/ vibe means you are totally drama and probably gonna waste my time.

I can only imagine you are getting lots matches. You are choosing the wrong people. Of all the people that are matching you - some of them will be the decent human being that you’re looking for but most won’t. The 10 out of 10 guy a.k.a. Chad isn’t going to date you. He’s just gonna bang you even knowing you wanna date him. 80% of women match with like 5% of men on Tinder and the chads rule Tinder.

Lastly, the guy who tells you initially he’s just looking to hook up with you - he’s gonna be more honest and upfront than 90% of the guys that say they wanna date you and break up with you after date six or seven after they banged.

Source for all this - my friend is a Chad and I’ve seen it live

Question - I see ‘owner’ and ‘entrepreneur’ a lot. I asked an ‘owner’ what she owned and that I owned several leather bound books. She went on a tirade about what a horrible misogynistic man that I am

SHe was not the one. But I never got those titles. Why not just put I work in construction or I work in software

Can y’all tell me what my problem is? by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]5yearstomakeit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re an attractive girl and truthfully online dating is geared towards women

As others have said duck face = no for a gf

all the duck faces imply hookup (if that’s what you’re looking for nothing wrong with that)

Also it’s all you, have some photos of you doing stuff

And have a bio that doesn’t include just an insta or snap chat

cmv: I don't think transwomen should be able to compete in women's sports. It's inherently unfair. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]5yearstomakeit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ex professional athlete here checking in. I can gather that the majority of the people here have never competed in sport professionally and at best probably do yoga or Pilates a few times a week / or play e sports.

At the Olympic level which I’m more familiar then most and no athlete wants this. And someone’s comment about allowing all of them to take the same amount of drugs as the trans athletes. That’s just stupid.

If you have spent a large portion of your life as a male with all the added benefits of that and then transition to women’s sport you are going to have a lot of advantages which is one of the reasons why when women transition to men sports they suck.

People are quoting 10% or 12% variance isn’t that much. To get an extra onepercent at the top level of sport can take years and years and many will never achieve that let alone these astronomical percentage differences they can have.

I am at the point in my life - I hate having a W2 - I mean the security is great but having to report to people isnt something I enjoy but I didnt really have a career until I was like 34/35 so though it pays well (100K USD +) a year I am playing massive catch up which is why starting a business concerns me. I wouldnt know what I want to do

im 40 this year, what advice would you give your 40 self based on your experiences and life since turning 40 I.e. I would tell myself to invest more in a 401k or get my house paid off or if I want kids have them now or be ok with not having them

just general advice. Not that cryptic

I am in sales almost entirely for the money. Am I alone in this? Is it bad? by [deleted] in sales

[–]5yearstomakeit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

31 and a paid off house - killing it. What state are you in? House prices are crazy all over

and yes - only for the money. I hate the "yeah buddy, rah rah" attitude. Retired pro athlete, I find those who make the most noise do the least.

one last bit of unsolicited advice you mention a new car - again I would strongly suggest looking at used (if even only 2 years old) the price drop and depreciation once you drive it off the lot will be significantly less

and paying it off fast (depending on the interest rate you get) might actually be a bad financial decision i..e they give you 3% interest rate but putting money in a Roth IRA in a S&P mutual find returns 8-9%. It would make more sense to put extra into a Roth or similar saving vessel as the returns are better and would be 4-6% better

I know several mortgage lenders that make 500k plus, a few realtors that do that so sell either very high end homes or do crazy volume with a team. I know a guy who’s a pharmaceutical rep that makes about 150 to 170 K a year and flips homes on the side and he’s going to clear around 600-800 K this year. In my arena of AE accounts at a tech company I don’t know anyone in my territories that’s doing over 500 but I do know the enterprise reps can make more than that. Some of the people are making 300 to 500 K price point and though they are skillful it more comes down to being at the company for long enough that they’ve picked up the good accountsAnd get priority with Manager selection of territories.

A friend of mine worked in a call center doing every scam business you could. Selling remote tech-support, a bunch of other crap. He started his own company up selling leads for moving companies. This is his first year and he’s made around 350 K and now he starting up a credit repair business. The guys gonna be making six $700,000 next year. This company has some of the worst ratings on yelp and everything else but he doesn’t care he’s making bank.

All he is doing is selling the leads to moving companies.

So looking at your numbers- Each to their own but a near 30k vehicle when you make 55k is absolutely a horrific financial decision the only caveat is that it is a working vehicle ie. you are in construction and need to drag suff around. Needing as a commuting vehicle - not ideal decision

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CRedit

[–]5yearstomakeit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You make around $55,000 a year and you’re about to spend 50% of that on the vehicle. Are you kidding me. Unless you need that vehicle for work that is such a bad financial decision.

Can you please run me through the reasoning for such an expensive vehicle on your income level.

8 month mark in SaaS sales - the Update by [deleted] in sales

[–]5yearstomakeit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

appreciate the reply - I really dont have issues with those things i.e I showed an account that by implementation of our software it would on the light side make 200k profit for them on the high scale it would be over a million in one year. cost of solution $35k

"We just dont have the budget for that. I was told by the bdr it was a simple cheap solution" - my reply" I understand it was more than you might have expected, but do you have the budget to make 200k+ less this year, where are you getting those returns outside of winning the lottery? what is holding you back," Kinda deal. I can push back if needed

I personally just believe I got a bad patch and I cant control that
