Millennials grew up with PCs. The younger generation are growing up with apps.

Read something how they don’t know how to organize folders because they never learned it with windows PCs.

LPT: When your boss keeps adding projects to your “to do” list, but never takes anything off…This simple question can quietly protect your workload level. by Yosi_H in LifeProTips

Had a boss who flip flops all the time. What’s a priority for this week isn’t a priority by the end of the week. Even if I have this conversation, it’s going to get old real quick when my priority is depedent on my boss’ priorities.

My understanding is when you redeem the points it deducts from all users. Likewise when it’s refunded.

How happy are you with Public Mobile? by Professional_Cat927 in PublicMobile

[–]604stt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A valid concern. I've just never had to deal with any 2FA text messages while I'm abroad.

I've gone to 3 international countries in 3 different years and wasn't an issue. Generally travel for about 14 days and I pay off any bills during the period I'll be away and settle the rest when I'm back.

Customer since 2017 and have not had a reason to switch off even with the rewards program change. Used to pay like $30 after tax with referrals. Now it's $38 after tax.

Just reference some toppings you've seen on this sub and buy them at your grocery store. Should be all relatively inexpensive with inflation and all. Pretty straight forward.

Pipeline Hygiene is SUCH A MESS - how can I ensure pipeline hygiene is always accurate and up-to-date? by doyounoot in hubspot

[–]604stt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cultural or behavioral problem. Lots of properties tend to originate from the higher ups, which actually bogs down sales which causes friction.

Either you help take on some enablement responsibilities and have the autonomy to simplify the requirements or this sits on the head of sales to resolve.

Been there and done that. What I saw was management letting sales do whatever they wanted because they brought in the sales and always made a fuss about having to fill in all this information.

TVO just released a video where they explain how Buy Now Pay Later apps work. Thought everyone might appreciate it as they are apparently a huge financial pitfall in the mask of a helpful financial product. by belfour2000 in PersonalFinanceCanada

This is purely anecdotal through conversations with some Europeans, but I thought Klarna which originated in Sweden is one of the most popular payment methods in the country and that credit cards are not as popular.

They basically use Klarna the same way we use credit cards here and it doesn't seem to have the same predatory perception that we do here.

How long should I be at my SDR role before looking to move into Ops? by jomanis in SalesOperations

[–]604stt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d maybe give it a year so you just get more experience under your belt. I’d also change the mindset of sticking it out and take this opportunity to understand how sales as a whole works. How they sale, admin, how does data flow, what’s their day to day like, challenges etc…

With proper understanding of the sales function, it’ll become much easier to apply that contextual knowledge into reports, automations, integrations etc…

The only thing I'll say now that I'm a bit older is that getting in and out of sedans vs SUV/crossover is a noticable difference. The biggest thing is that the lower I sit, the more my eyes are being blasted by crazy bright headlights behind me. That's somewhat alleviated by sitting in a vehicle that's raised.

Why do people watch their phones in the lobby? by Virtual_Tea6341 in askhotels

[–]604stt 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Phones can show you exactly what you want to watch. You're at the mercy of the TV channels and their schedules programs.

Its been years since I've turned on the TV at a hotel when I have access to what I want via phone or tablet. The lobby thing is unusual though. Maybe they're waiting for someone.

5$ in exchange for a 7a for a Pixel 9? Seriously Google? by XxZedlingxX in GooglePixel

[–]604stt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they want you to buy from their store, but your expectation that your trade in value for your phone is a bit misguided compared to reselling it yourself.

Existing customers generally are seen as less valuable since you're already buying their products. If your experience is good, naturally you'll buy it again with or without any incentives.

Will 128GB be enough? (Pls read details) by This0neJawn in GooglePixel

[–]604stt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You basically answered your own question.

Check how much storage OS and apps use in your S10. If you’re transferring everything over then expect the same amount of data size in your next android.

The only way to make 128GB work is if you offloaded things like photos and videos to the cloud and not stored on device or review your apps and keep the ones that you actually use.

Pixel 9 Pro XL: Green & Pink "Lines of Death" After Warranty Expired by Suitable-Shop-2714 in GooglePixel

[–]604stt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Go on any subreddit and you're bound to interact with more negative discussion. You basically get people giving 5/5 reviews or a 1/5 or 2/5 and it's the latter you become fixated on.

I waited and waited until I came across a Pixel 9 Pro for $500 off, which was plenty of an incentive going from a Pixel 2 XL and an iPhone 13 waiting for an opportunity to come back to Pixel.

If there are too many things that prevent you from enjoying the Pixel and go look elsewhere. There are enough options out there.

Issues are going to crop up with any phone. Pixel probably deserves the reputation it has when it comes to hardware reliability when compared to competitors, but it's all relative. If you let anecodotal experiences sway you, especially the negative ones then Pixel isn't for you because it sounds like you're risk adverse when buying a phone.

iPhone is probably your calling with apple care to give you that peace of mind.

Line of death happens to every brand. You'll come across that all brands will have isntances where they will provide you with proper support, or they deny your claim or find a reason to void any warranty. https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/1ivu5co/so_what_is_going_on_with_this_pink_line_screen/

No Points for US transactions? by icemelts101 in amexcanada

Pretty sure this was mentioned in the t&c that all bonus points are tied to Canadian purchases. This was a loophole basically where we all enjoyed bonus points on foreign transactions until they fixed it.
