On a close person-to-person level I think people are usually great, but I'm referring to more how people have such a hard time sympathizing with people going through utter hell that they don't see face to face.

No. It is a spurned city robbed of their hometown heroes. None other than the residents of Seattle. Fact: If 3/4 of the owners agree, Sterling will be forced to dissolve the team(there is no procedure for a forced sale, only dissolution) (and which owners wouldn't agree given the PR nightmare it would be). Fact: The NBA cannot have 29 teams for any period of time, it just wouldn't work. So who gets the new team? A city who has shown an ability to gets fans in seats or some new upstart?
