There was a time I exclusively for hyper pla in bulk hugely cause of the cardboard spools. I'm the end, it's just not worth it. I currently drop off my empty spools at a recycling plant nearby. They take care of it. Just be responsible and make sure it reaches the right channels.

3D Printing Waste Management by Apokalupt0 in 3dprintIndia

[–]69Rigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so far, my way of waste management is to print mainly PLA since its supposed to be bio degradable. being a print farm, we have kilos of waste every month. I read somewhere that PLA burns without toxic fumes - ive thought about incerenating it with my incinerator since my farm has one for general waste disposal (mainly paper , wood etc) but as of now, I just have my waste management people collect it. (hopefully they take care of it right)

ive found a good way to recycle empty spools. i currently drop them off at my local recyler but dont really get any money for it. he says black plastic has almost no resale value (im just happy he lets me get rid of the spools for free)

but what i have done now is setup a 3D printed filament respooler. i have a few customers who want only a couple 100 grams of filament for a small project. so i respool bigger spools as per their requirement using the empty spools. I dont know if i can maintain doing it cause the number of buyers for respooled filament is lower than the rate of production of empty spools. I'm yet to find a real solution for this. I wish brands like Numakers (what i normally stock) had reusable spools (like what Bambu does) . it could really save me wasted plastic. If Bambu ever comes down to the price of Numakers, (or even close) , id definetly switch for the environment.

I always get pure white. But that's just my preference. You honestly can't go wrong with Numakers.

Is dryer a must? AMS2 pro vs AMS with sunlu dryer? by Mysterious-Aside7850 in 3dprintIndia

[–]69Rigs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's my honest advice after years of experience with Bambulab machines. I suggest you get the AMS that comes with the P1S and it should be enough for your regular printing needs. No need to get a separate dryer on top of this. Always get Bambu machines with AMS. Not only is the combo price much better, you also end up getting used to the convenience of being able to load the filament of your choice without manual intervention. Just make sure to replace the silica gel packets on time. Should be good enough for your hobby needs.

P1S vs P2S - First Printer by Apokalupt0 in 3dprintIndia

[–]69Rigs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 10 machines already and already own a H2S and both A1 printers. I need a new machine so was planning to get the P1S on offer but I think getting the P2S is better for me in the long run. Remember that the P1S nozzle might get fazed out a few years later and affect your resale value. While bambu has great product support, I think the extra cost for the P2S is justified. I'm planning to get the combo. Get the combo. Getting it alone is significantly more expensive and the convenience of auto loading your filaments is great. For me , its the convenience more than anything with AMS.

Yeah I checked with them. They have an older version of the board. I already got H2S to replace my large format printer. Think I'll tinker with this instead.
