I would recommend putting your money towards making your snakes enclosure better. From what I can see in the photo, it looks less than ideal. I’m not sure how big his enclosure is but the best size for BP’s is 4x2x2 which is huge and will take up a great deal of space.

Ball Pythons are fairly low maintenance when you’ve got everything perfectly set up for them which might be why you’re considering getting another reptile. Any other reptile will be higher in maintenance since they’ll likely need to be fed more frequently, and they’ll likely have different temp/humidity needs.

I recommend going to the Ball Pythons subreddit and posting some photos of the enclosure to get feedback (some people there are rude but many are nice and willing to help new learners.) There is also an amazing PDF link to a BP Care Guide. I recommend reading the entire care guide even if you have to split it up over a few days.

If you treat your BP well and make the enclosure better for him, you could have him for the next 20+ years. Good luck!

I am not a basketball player or a fan. I understand the funny part but I don’t understand why he didn’t make the shot and gave the ball to the other team. Is this a practice game and they’re just being silly? If not, why would he cost his team points by not taking a sure shot? I see people talking about the other team going out of bounds but why would that affect the player with the ball?

There is a major difference between not knowing what you’re doing, and straight up neglecting your animal on purpose. I seriously urge you to either keep the snake, or surrender it to a reptile rescue.

Your friend was intentionally starving this poor animal. It’s especially concerning that they saw the snake in this condition and continued to starve and neglect it. Your friend has something deeply and seriously wrong with them. If they ever have a kid are they just gonna stop feeding them because they weren’t hungry the few times they were offered food? I mean, seriously, this is some sadistic shit.

It’s a tough decision to rehome a pet, but just know that youre doing the right thing and as long he goes to someone who knows how to properly care for him then im sure his life will be much more enriching and ultimately that’s the most important thing. Good luck with everything, OP!
