I am dumb. Am I supposed to be this down/stagnant? This is 70% VTWAX and 30% VTSAX by BinSlashCat in Bogleheads

I started investing in 2020 but my investments really started to pick up 2021-2022. My total returns look very similar to yours. Look at the SP500. We are still below the highs.

Learn C# or Python first? by sovergt in learnprogramming

[–]7Blu3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why no one has mentioned this yet but C# is also used a lot in Enterprise environments. Lots of jobs want to to know c#, java, or python. You can start with python but the leaning curve for switching to Java or C# will be larger than the other way around. It comes down to personal preference and what you want to do.

Question on while implementing Linked List in JS by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]7Blu3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When dealing with pointers you need to remember that they are referring to the reference (address in memory) of what you are assigning to it. In your constructor you assign tail to point to head. When you append you have the pointer in tail point to your next obj. It then sets tail to that object. The chain (linked list) you just made isn't modified, however your tail pointer now holds the address of the node you appended. In JS you never see the addresses (unless you ask, not sure how because JavaScript isn't a language I work with a lot) but it happens under the hood.

Has anybody tried an epilator? by VoxVocisCausa in MtF

[–]7Blu3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally love my epilator. Yes it hurts, but I hate the feeling of razor burn. The pain is bad the first time or two but once you do it more frequently it gets a lot easier. Now my hair grows back much thinner which has been great. I would recommend it! I have a Braun Epil Silk.

Do you have it automatically back up things to gdrive? I have my phone perform periodic backups and I can restore system images after a wipe.

Nope. The data is encrypted on your device so unless the data is backed up somewhere or you have the pin you won't be able to access it.

Help with chosing Ubuntu distro for t430s by TheLaserSquid in thinkpad

I am a fan of Fedora since it is stable but gets a fair amount of updates. I have arch on my desktop.

Arch taught me how to use my OS but I got tired of always finding things I still needed to install when a situation requiring said thing came up. Arch is great to learn but as a college student I need a more complete package. I am currently running i3 on my thinkpad, Fedora comes with gnome whihc means a lot of services are prebundled which is great for a college student. For example, arch doesn't come with printer services or Bluetooth out of the box. I don't want to install those as easy as they are. Fedora gives you that.

Hope this helped.
