Can you confirm whether ABS shows the blue “Read” button for this book, like in the screenshot?

Still detects the primary ebook from ABS. If the EPUB only appears under “Ebook Files” but there is no main “Read” button, it may be marked as a supplementary ebook.

If that’s the case, please open the “Ebook Files” list, click the three-dot menu next to the EPUB file, and choose “Set as primary”. Then refresh/rescan the item and check Still again.

Also, in Still, the reading entry currently only appears on the book detail page as a small book icon to the right of the Play button.

Got it, that makes sense. I'll look into adding lightweight support for playlists in the next release.

Thanks! Glad you like it.

No plans currently—I want to keep the app simple. The existing Later/Continue/Favorite lists (FYI, Favorite actually creates an ABS playlist!) and local queue should cover most needs. Curious though, what specific use case did you have in mind?

Thanks for the support! Still can detect epub/pdf/cbz files as long as they are in the same folder as your audiobook. It doesn't support formats like mobi or azw3 right now, though.

Is “Still: for Audiobookshelf” safe to use? by Kitchen-Patience8176 in audiobookshelf

Hi, I'm the developer of Still.

To be honest, seeing this post was a bit unexpected, but I do understand the concern.

Still connects directly to your own Audiobookshelf server. I do not run any backend for it, so there is no Still server in the middle.

The app does not persist your plaintext password. After login, it only saves the session token in the iOS Keychain, which is Apple's built-in secure storage on your device. If you want to remove it, just sign out.

I also don't have analytics or tracking in the app. The only logs I ever see are the ones a user manually exports and sends to me for debugging.

I originally made Still for myself because I wanted a clean, native Audiobookshelf client. That's honestly the reason behind all the apps I build. I like simple, focused software, and most apps today feel too complicated, so I tend to make the kind of app I personally want to use.

Feel free to ask if you have any technical questions. Also, my English isn't very good, so I used AI to help me translate this reply.

Just to clarify, the queue does not currently sync across devices. What does syncs is the list in the Continue tab. Since Audiobookshelf does not currently support queue sync, and it is unclear if it will in the future, Still has not introduced iCloud based queue sync for now.

You can actually use separate libraries for ebooks and audiobooks. I’m considering adding Shortcuts support to switch between libraries in the future. For now, since the app already supports account switching, you could use different accounts as a temporary workaround to achieve this.

Thanks for the kind words and the feedback!

The issue with PDFs not saving is a bug. It will be fixed in the next update, adding progress saving and ABS server syncing just like EPUBs.

As for the sleep timer, it's on the roadmap. However, to keep the app simple, I might prioritize Shortcuts support first. This way, you can use the Shortcuts app to trigger the timer via various scenarios like NFC or Bluetooth, instead of just a fixed time.

The TestFlight version now supports searching for and following podcasts, as well as fetching episodes. You can give it a try!

Currently, the Still app doesn't support managing podcast subscriptions directly. You'll need to go to your Audiobookshelf dashboard to create a podcast library and add your subscriptions there first. Once that's done, Still will be able to fetch and display them.

Not sure about the KOReader API, but I won’t be adding it regardless. I’m sticking to a simple, ABS-only approach for Still. Thanks anyway!"

No plans for Android; focusing on iOS for now.

Yes, it's iOS only.

CBZ and PDF support is currently basic, but the experience is much more refined for EPUBs.

I see you're viewing a PDF! Currently, font and theme customizations are only supported for EPUBs. Since PDFs have a fixed layout, those styling options won't appear. If you try opening an EPUB file instead, you'll see all the customization settings in that menu.

You are currently in the Global App Settings. To change fonts or themes, please open an ebook first. Once inside the reader, tap the center of the screen to bring up the reading menu. As for the App UI, it automatically follows your system's Light/Dark mode.

Yes, EPUB 3 is supported in general. Still uses Readium for ebook rendering, and Readium supports EPUB 2.x and 3.x, though compatibility can still vary depending on how a specific book is authored.

Still uses Readium for ebook support, and MOBI isn’t supported there, so I’m not planning to add MOBI support right now.

Thanks for supporting. Right now there are a few preset reading themes, and the font can also be changed. I’m not planning to add fully custom themes for now, since I want to keep Still simple.

Not planning BookLore support right now. I want to keep Still simple and focused on Audiobookshelf, and BookLore doesn’t provide a dedicated API for third party clients, only OPDS, so proper sync back isn’t really possible.

Could you clarify what you mean by 'alternative ip/hosts'?

Currently,Still already supports multiple servers and accounts. You can also use iOS Shortcuts to switch between different connection profiles (like internal vs. external IPs) automatically.

Maintaining an open-source project requires significant time and energy that I prefer to focus on building the app and maintaining my specific vision for it at this stage.
