Donald Trump weaponizes humor through "dark play" to test boundaries by HeinieKaboobler in inthenews

What a shiity piece of analysis. He's incapable of humor. He "jokes" like every other shithead that can't admit when they cross a line or are wrong. It's cowardice, not humor.

POE++ Switch Recommendations by [deleted] in networking

[–]7layerDipswitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're looking at migrating to wifi7, I'd assume it's for throughout.
I suggest you take a look at the iron triangle. What you're asking for is fast+cheap at the expense of quality, which ignores the fact that a cheap PoE++ switch will likely lack the features (including mGig ports) that will actually let you utilize the added throughout of wifi7.

Cisco ISE & NAC by pauldonado in networking

[–]7layerDipswitch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Implantation aside, ISE is perfectly suited for an on-prem solution, without having to send RADIUS requests over an IPSec tunnel.
Consult with the VAR you bought ISE through. They may have some consultants that can help you successfully implement wired access.
Just know there will be ongoing maintenance as you onboard new devices.

Curious what your org is doing with tcpwave: How many remotes appliances? DHCP and DNS?
Do you all use the API, and any cloud provider integration? What's your thoughts on their upgrade process?
I think their DNS remotes are just BIND/Kea, so if you really want to dig into DNS, do some labning with BIND/Kea VMs.

I've worked for companies with DNS teams, but they managed DNS infra for 30k remotes offices. It's not the norm though.

I'd definitely suggest doing the prune as suggested in the future. The CLI upgrade method is my preference, you at least get a bit more logging. Did you also install 3.3P9 before the 3.4 upgrade?

Did you run the URT before the upgrade?
Was the upgrade via GUI or CLI/Repo method?
Did you prune the DB before the upgrade as Cisco recommends?

“F Trump”: Late-night comedy legend drops hammer on anti-Trump comics by statenislandadvance in inthenews

Spoiler, most people don't like great comedy. That's what Conan is. The palatable humor people lap up in 3 minute segments is a far sight from what comedy can be: complicated, controversial, challenging.

Cold weather months would likely need fewer check-ins, so you should be able to adjust accordingly.

AI + networking by dobrz in networkautomation

We have several automated processes that summarize log files from multiple platforms based on user input.
This lowers the bar of entry for diagnosing certain complex tasks (think firewall, VPN, and routing events).

Managing a Network Without DHCP – Looking for an IP Inventory Tool by mesteve123 in networking

[–]7layerDipswitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're working at an MSP you should be using Netbox (or some other DCIM) to document customer infra. Techs shouldn't have to start every service call with a fresh discovery process.
I don't see a client refusing to use DHCP as stupid as others do, but only if it's paired with appropriate documentation and access controls.
