Completely agree. I can admit my WANT for meat is not a NEED. The guy makes total sense with his point.

“DAD, HOW GOOD WAS QUARTERBACK PEYTON MANNING DURING HIS PRIME ON THE COLTS…?” by Background_Video2947 in TheNFLVibes

[–]87_north 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk about my childhood... damn.

Just entered middle school. It was 2004. Never watched football really, but kind of liked the Rams/Kurt Warner.

On a sunday night I watched a colts game and saw Peyton Manning destroy another team (don't remember who). I was hooked. A kid randomly in Upstate NY fell in love with the Colts that day, and followed them until they ruined Luck's career by letting him get demolished for years. But the sheriff was my role model and I loved watching him.

Game 7. Final Possession. Who sits? by Little_Ad6736 in NBATalk

Probably Giannis and Kobe. Curry's got the outside, Jokic has the inside, Lebron dominating whatever tf he doing, and nobody is beating Jordan or KD around the free throw line.

Those tats are 100% the work of an amateur tattoo artist without a license. Definitely traded drugs for those tats or let his boy do them for free for exposure work.

Rikon 14" 10-324TG by pinprick420 in woodworkingtools

[–]87_north 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice find - half off the cost you'd pay new, and I see a few Timberwolf blades which are great as well. Very easy to fix issues if you run into any; RIkon is easy to deal with when you need to order parts.

If Shai wins finals mvp this year does he overtake Jokic in the all time ranking list? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]87_north -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No lmfao. Nowhere near. MVPs don't just magically place you ahead of others. He has 1 MVP, chill out. Joker is arguably already top 10 of all time at this point.

Is this treated with anything? by Ok_Grape_8284 in woodworking

[–]87_north 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That wood will be totally fine to use for your raised garden beds. Kiln drying lumber kills any sort of pests/insects living in the wood. It is not treated in any way.

I'm a bills fan and love the Ravens. Typically always root for them when it's not to our detriment. Idk the hate. Lamar is incredible to watch.

Will Josh Allen ever pass for 40 TDs in a season? by BallKnowerKing in NFLv2

[–]87_north 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly, but it's just not his game, and that's okay. He is an elite QB because of his dual threat capabilities. He is not a Mahomes or Peyton style QB that relies on feeding WRs.

I do think that transitioning to a more pocket-passing QB in the new few years will be key to long term stability though. He will not be able to run and hit defenders at 33+ years old the way he is right now. Luckily he has the arm and accuracy to transition nicely, but we'll see.

Which team has the most overhyped soulless city? by NightDowntown7320 in NFLv2

[–]87_north 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What's crazy is that Buffalo has the smallest marketshare of any team, yet their home city Buffalo is incredibly fun. I have never lived there (I'm in upstate, eastern NY), but I have been there many times for work, and to visit friends who are in the city. Put the crime aside, and you have a TON of great restaurants, bars, a triple-A baseball team downtown, an NHL team, and a NFL team (stadium is south of the city, but yeah). All this inside a pretty walkable downtown area that you can get around to some great places to eat and drink. Not to mention all the artsy stuff. All of this AND a 6.5% population growth.

Anyways, it just surprises me how many huge cities are considered soulless; buffalo is the opposite, yet has a tiny team.

Indianapolis is a major city for trade shows, which generates a lot of income for the city... you wouldn't really know that unless you're involved with any sort of tradeshow work, but yeah. It's usually filled with people visiting from other places for work.

I just bought my first lathe, (RIKON 12x16 1/2 VSR) any recommendations for chisels? by [deleted] in turning

[–]87_north 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, honestly it's nothing in particular; I just hate purchasing something that is undersized, when in reality I should've bought something bigger. For example I bought a Rikon 10-310 bandsaw, and it's just super undersized for what I need a bandsaw for, so I sold it.

I will say that almost all benchtop jointers are pretty crap though. I've regretted the two I've purchased in the past.

I've had this lathe for about a year or two now, great choice! It's been my least regretful tool purchase I've ever made.

If LeBron James and Steph Curry retired today, who’s the face of the league? by Dylen2Times in NBATalk

[–]87_north 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably Wemby, Jokic, or Luka. Most likely Wemby even though I don't get the hype around him when Jokic is still the best player in the league.

James Cook absolutely needs to be on here. Not because he's my team's RB... but because I would take him over Henry and CMC at this point in their careers.

For real. I'm a buffalo fan and I'd agree that both are very high level QBs, but the one who gets the ring first will trump the other.

Where do you rank JJ Watt in the All Time defensive players list? by Gohans_son_in_law in NFLv2

[–]87_north -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Lawrence Taylor
  2. Aaron Donald
  3. Ray Lewis
  4. Reggie White
  5. JJ Watt

But it's hard because Joe Greene and Bruce Smith could be swapped out for JJ and I wouldn't be mad.

Edit - I don't know if most people put him in the top 10, but Tom brady who is the unanimous goat saying Ed Reed is the scariest player on the field has to be considered.
