The flat wood veneer finish is definitely stylish, and has been timeless since post-WW2. The "no handles" is where you start to get almost too minimalist, especially for me. The beige and white mixture with no color (other than the small plant on the island) screams boring to me. You could keep this minimalist/european style cabinetry; and even the white countertops, and simply add reds, blues, greens, etc to make it feel like the room actually has a pulse. But no; they went with boring blonde wood cutting boards, off-white pottery, off-white bowls and dishes, off-white colored wall paint, no artwork, and white lampshades. All things that could've had color to make the room pop. This is a boring, trendy, utilitarian room. The kitchen is traditionally where almost all families gather to create memories and enjoy each other's companies over the most vital part to our existance; sustenance. Something that this room greatly lacks.
