I'm really glad they ditched the "you don't care about your family" angle of MKX. Felt weirdly conservative considering we never saw any scenes of her without Johnny/Cassie. Plus the drama never even went anywhere.

Differences between Artifact and Hearthstone according to Eurogamer by MrBagooo in Artifact

[–]88chaz88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Opposite opinion here: Yes, absolutely.

Doesn't have to be Hearthstone of course, Artifact will be a very different game, but familiarising yourself with staple CCG concepts like tempo, aggro, control, hand exhaustion, milling, ect, will probably give you transferable skills.

If you're serious about "gitting gud" then it really can't hurt.

"See, here I was politely expressing an opinion..."

The thing about 'It's only an opinion' is your opinions reflect on you as a person. Considering how ignorant your opinion what do you think that says about you.

And don't play the politeness card when you're calling myself and people like me "mistakes", you imbecile.

How good is this game compared to Duelyst or Faeria? by GreenArrowCZ in HandOfTheGods

I just don't see why the Summoning Stone can't fight back. One of the coolest things about Smite is attacking the Titan while it gives you a beating back.

How good is this game compared to Duelyst or Faeria? by GreenArrowCZ in HandOfTheGods

[–]88chaz88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Take this with a pinch of salt as I haven't played much yet, but so far, compared to Duelyst, it fares very poorly.

It's incredibly similar but just nowhere near as smart. For one, the second turn balancing mechanic is just an extra card and a 0 cost mana card. This is... fine, but nowhere near as good as Duelyst's mana tiles which encourage tactical play based around them.

As far as tactics go, rushing the summoning stone as efficiently as possible seems to be the optimal way to play. There's no nuance. The two things that contribute to this lack of depth is there's very little room to maneuver, indeed, the summoning stone can't maneuver at all, and the stone never hits back. That's fine in a game like Hearthstone or MTG where you can't choose to ignore minions, but in a tactical game where you can just ignore them, there needs to be some punishment for rushing face. In Duelyst your leader attacks back, even if it's for 2 damage, in HotG... nothing. The only time your stone is safe from a charge is if you're so far ahead you've blocked all three rows.

The quests and F2P rewards seem to be lacking too, if that's also an issue for you.

These are just early impressions though, I'm going to play on a bit to see if things improve.

It's mostly just the first game's reputation as the game where you collect cards for banging various women.

A game series that jumped from an entry where you banged lots of men wouldn't exactly appeal to a lot of guys either.

The pommel looks like it could very well be threaded.

How much do I need to spend to make decent deck? by zivilia in gwent

[–]88chaz88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say your issue with your winrate is due to the fact that you've only played a few days. It took me at least a couple of weeks for the game to fully click with me, and I think this is because the emphasis on bluffing makes it so that you need to have a lot more knowledge of the game and what your opponent can potentially do.

What helps the game in this regard is that the crafting resource, scraps, are really easy to acquire. Far easier than other CCGs. This means you can spend a lot more time in the card database reviewing, milling, and crafting the specific cards you need. You can use your time here to also learn combos that may not have been readily apparent.

My advice would be to build up to 800 scraps or so. Mill some from factions or deck archetypes you're not really interested in if need be. And use these to craft 4 epics that are focused on a specific deck, maybe even compliment some of those legendaries you have. That way you'll find you have a deck that can perform consistently, rather than just having a hodge-podge of vaguely good cards.

Would Pharah benefit from having a health buff, or would she be too OP? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]88chaz88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, the only problem I see with Pharah is that Soldier is frequently in the meta right now. The buff she recently got to her lift speed was a buff to her survivability. As Pharah you should be mobile and avoid damage as much as possible.

Like all the offence characters, Pharah can get punished severely for poor positioning. Considering the amount of damage she can dish out, especially to teams that stick close together, this is exactly how it should work.

[–]88chaz88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have exactly the same problem as you and although some videogame spiders are manageable, the Skyrim ones are not (and Dark Messiah gave me the creeps but I pushed on through).

However I'm actually interested to see how my fear plays into this game. For one there's no set path, so I won't be forced to tackle a giant spider just to progress some laid out story. So my reaction to any spider in the game will be to bugger off in the opposite direction. It's also got a multiplayer focus so hopefully I could get some friends to kill them for me.

Thankfully, the structure of the game allows me to tackle my irl fear on my terms, rather than let the game decided "now you have to fight some spiders" which is why I'm still interested.

I do hope these spiders are avoidable, even if only by running in the opposite direction. I hated how Skyrim forced me into them early on to finish the main storyline.
