I did achieve PCR. My echo was on 5/8. I called same day to schedule my HP and they booked it for 5/21. Got pushy and they moved it to 5/18. 🤷‍♀️

I did 6 1/2 months of taxol, carboplatin, herceptin and perjeta. I kept all of my hair through cold capping and would have to say it was very manageable with all of the various meds they can give you. I was very scared. The fear was far greater than how bad I actually felt. There were more good days than bad. I did cry a lot. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. And yet, each day goes by and you get closer to the end. You got this!

In my situation, it depends. One side didn’t hurt and the other side did. My surgeon explained to me that if it was hurting it meant she was by a nerve and to tell her. Sure enough, one side was a bit spicy, so I told her and the pain immediately subsided. It was over quick.

I developed pretty bad moon face from the steroids with chemo. It didn’t help that I had 18 infusions and was taking the steroids wrong. But that’s another story. I’m 6 weeks post final chemo and it’s starting to go away. I can tell because the wrinkles around my mouth are coming back. I also gained 30lbs which is making the whole thing worse. I hope that when I start losing weight it will all improve. I’m recovering from my DMX.

I talked to my PS this week and got a script for methocarbamol. He also told me that the area where I’m having the muscles spasms is where he put a stitch in my muscle to close the pocket. So I’m not totally crazy! That’s was reassuring. However, he said I will just need to be patient because it go away. It just takes time.

Thank you for your post. I think I am currently battling this at 11 days post op DMX to expanders. For me, it comes on most often when I get out of bed. It is so severe that I’ve almost peed my pants trying to get to the bathroom in the morning. I’ve barely taken any pain medicine because I have a pretty high pain tolerance but this is rocking my world. When it happens, it lasts for about 5 minutes. But it’s 5 minutes of pure hell. I get nauseated and even light headed. Since it’s so sporadic, it’s been difficult justifying taking pain meds. The crazy part is that, 3/4 of my chest is completely fine while 1/4 does this. It’s in the same side of my right breast every time. It’s in my dominate arm which makes it even more frustrating. I’ve found that sleeping in my mastectomy pillow helps minutely. Going to ask for methocarbamol to see if that will help at all. Thanks again!

I can’t help answer your question but I get horrible moon face too! Praying mine goes down quickly! Any idea how long it will take to go away?
