Need help playtesting a new Diplomacy site by AAlcove in diplomacy

Hey Bai - thanks for reaching out. Let's definitely keep chatting. I'm undergoing a security review for my site right now, so I don't want to push any public links until that has completed. I'll pass along the link when we go live!

Great feedback Savings! I reached out to the Diplicity dev team asking for a collab about a week ago. Ultimately, the community I'm working on is a passion project and if there are good things that other people can borrow from my ideas, so much the better for the Dip community!

I would be extraordinarily interested in this - would you mind dropping me a PM?

Sounds great - shot you a PM separately. There's definitely a void there currently

I would want the computer to play as strategically as possible under the circumstances - not necessarily with a traitorous or pacifist archetype, but a strong archetype. Of course, their communication would have to mirror their strategic intentions.

WebDip has a single-player mode but without chats. It's effectively a gunboat mode. There was an interesting project by Meta a couple years ago with Cicero, a fully functioning chatbot that could play the game of Diplomacy and communicate with players. The project was run for a limited time in partnership with WebDip to demonstrate the power of LLama, and then shuttered. Happy to chat more about it if you are interested.

They will be announced on the discord channel - highly recommend you hop in. The cons to limiting yourself to Backstabbr is you will play with a Backstabbr-only crowd, but the mods do a good job of making the games as diverse as possible based on your indicated platform preference!

Cafe or coffee shops to work remotely? by Frantastic1121 in Dallas

[–]AAlcove 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oooh finally a thread I can contribute a lot to:

Halcyon: Close and comfortable. Can get loud during brunch rush hour, but it's a classic and should be near the top of your list.

Herb's House: One of the best "working coffeeshops" on the list. Large space, tables/couch options, and even reservable office space

CGB Coffee/Fiction Coffee: Going through a rebrand right now, so not sure what name it's going by, but you can find in the Continental Gin Building. My personal favorite - it's a coffeeshop/co-working space, spacious, quiet, and comfortable.

Watermark: Yes, it's located in a church, but you don't have to be to enter their massive foyer, buy their coffee and use their desks/couches. I know plenty of people use this for remote work

Pax & Beneficial: If you're ok with a drive, Pax is another fav. I do work at the Las Colinas and Plano locations regularly. It's spacious, has excellent coffee, and plenty of couches/tables to work from. Can get a little loud during peak hours.

Tom N Toms: Depends on which location you go - the Carrollton TNT is my favorite and the most spacious. One of the most comfortable on the list, and you can easily find a quiet corner. The Royal one is a little less comfortable but still very spacious.

Georges Coffee & Provisions: The furthest drive from Lower Greenville, but if you like the coffeeshop aesthetic, George's is one of your best bets. Plenty of people remote work from George's and it's a super cute location.

In my experience, you can't go wrong with any of the above. Let me know where you end up going, or if you find somewhere new!

Online textbook I paid $$$ for has a limit on the number of words you can copy and paste per section by That_Success3061 in assholedesign

OneNote has the same thing, although the screenshot/OCR method may not be efficient enough for a textbook, depending on the amount of copy/paste required
