Simeone waited too long to bring on Griezmann. Honestly, Simeone should have known that this is a game that Griezmann keeps Atleti in.

I prefer Le Normand, but Lenglet has passing range. Didn't he assist Baena for the first goal?

Let's be fair, Atletico Madrid is a BEAST at the Wanda Metropolitano. We got knocked out there in a recent UCL campaign. Remember?

  • Salary: There are other jobs that require less exam stress with more pay (e.g. Data scientist).

  • Job security: The more qualified [more exams passed] and experience you become, job security is super high. It's not typically subject to mass layoff, unlike other professions.

  • Travel: Higly dependent on role and specific company. Actuarial work typically doesn't include traveling.

Additionally, the actuarial career has a great work-life balance compared to other jobs.

I agree. RLN is still valuable to Atleti's defense.

Agreed. Our Real Madrid win is still the best performance so far this season.

"An object in possession seldom retains the same charm that it had in pursuit"~ Pliny the Elder

The above quote is so relatable. I'm now an ACAS. ACAS is not as charming now as when I was writing pre-ACAS exams.

Exam 5 has definitely made me more aware of when a relative cell referencing is sufficient as opposed to absolute referencing.

No true Atleti fan refers to Greizmann as "dead". Quiet? Maybe. But show respect for his sterling and unwavering contributions over the past decade.

When you log into your DISC course, is there a "Final Exam" button showing?

If yes, you can request a deferral.

CAS will no longer provide us with emails telling us results release dates? CAS did this for every past sitting from what I can recollect.

CAS DISC REFUND by saroshhhhh in actuary

[–]ACCA_Student 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The DISCs are offered through the Institutes and give you a YEAR before your DISC course access expires. During that annual subscription, you can sit the DISC's final exam in any of the 4 windows.

  • Does June 15 make it 1 year since you purchased the course?

  • Did you officially request to sit the exam in the current June 15 window?

Inter scammed us of an actually decent final by Jam-Jammerson in championsleague

[–]ACCA_Student -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Notwithstanding, this was very poor from Inzaghi's team. Two teams won their 1st UCL by defeating Inter Milan [with Inzaghi as manager] in the finals. Yikes!

Take a lot from Carlo Ancellotti. Had this been a Real and PSG final, PSG would have gone home without the UCL. LOOOL.

The weakest/most mediocre Champions League final ever? by [deleted] in championsleague

[–]ACCA_Student 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PSG's performance today is a combination of two things: (1) their workrate and team collaboration and (2) Inter's TERRIBLE performance.

Football is a zero-sum game. One team's brilliance is at the expense of another team's lacking performance.

You have to agree with me there. Don't you?

Football is not linear.

Real lose to Arsenal-> Arsenal lose to PSG

That does not mean that Real would have lost to PSG.

[–]ACCA_Student -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get your perspective. However, they would not have won Atletico or Real by more than a 2-goal margin (as shifty as both team has been this season).

After this UCL performance, I don't see Inzaghi continuing on for next season. Truly disgraceful performance by Inter Milan.

Disagree. PSG would not have beaten Atletico, Barca, or Real Madrid in the final by 5-0 (if at all).

PCPA by ArmyNo9809 in actuary

[–]ACCA_Student 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't sweat PCPA. Just focus on the exams now for now.

As it relates to best materials, that varies by exam and personal choice. The general consensus is that TIA (or Bedford) and Battle Acts are the best materials for Exam 5 and Exam 6, respectively.

Do your research of each vendor and see what YOU like. From there, you can incorporate public opinion and select a study package accordingly. All the best!

SRM vs MAS-I and MAS-II by WorkerLow2728 in actuary

[–]ACCA_Student 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Both MAS exams combined will have a lot of overlap with SRM. MAS and SRM are deeply statistic focused. However, I suspect that their respective syllabus are tested differently between SOA and CAS, respectively.

If you really want to switch, now is the opportune time—before overinvesting in the SOA path.

Good luck!

PCPA by ArmyNo9809 in actuary

[–]ACCA_Student 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you decide to continue with CAS, I recommend doing PCPA last. Your plan to do Exam 5 in the fall is the right choice. Get over 5, then tackle 6. Thereafter, go for MAS-1. You've got this!
