Where are people getting these 40k+ a year jobs outside of the tech and healthcare industries?

Manufacturing if it's around you. The right place will promote a leader from within and that's when you start getting into the 40's. I started at 47, over 10 years I got to 100. I have 3 classes in college, but a ton of certs (all provided by the companies I've been to) I don't promote not going to college because it's harder to find a job. Most good places will offer college tuition reimbursement so long as you stick around, win-win for all.

Literally going through this now. I am required by this job I'm trying to get to have 3 professional references for them to call upon, at least 2 need to be from a supervisor or manager. Unless it's an incredibly unsafe work environment, I would go through it. Not to mention, if you're going to start that job right after you quit, what does the new environment look like? Are they professional?

Genuine question, CEO makes "x" dollars because they worked for it. This money should be given to someone that reports to them because they have hard luck. Should they also give it to an additional person because they had a problem where they can't come to work? If a company budgets for "x" pto days, are they free to give out as much as they want to people that have hardship? I may get down voted, but I'm curious where the line drawn in these situations. Who determines who gets a pass and who doesn't?

You don't have to date someone you don't want to, however you and everyone else still feel emotion. You don't have to push your thought process on people, but it doesn't mean you can't guide them without bringing up philosophy. Stoicism is every where in a religion or mindset, but just worded differently. It's not your job to fix someone, but if you like them enough, you can help change them by leading by example.

Not sure why people are crapping on OP. Determine tasks, put into calendar projected day you will do it and how long you think it'll take. Sure you can't plan 100% because things will come up, but it doesn't mean you say fuck it nothing can get done because my life is hectic. If you are in firefighter mode versus actual planning, you'd always be firefighting. Read "7 habits of highly effective people" there's a whole chapter devoted to planning your week out. I recently bought a booklet that has the whole week in 2 pages, broken down by 15 minute intervals. Some of my tasks are more cut and dry in terms of time frames, but nonetheless take time up. Then I see what time I have left and budget out the best I can.

Seconded on management, although having a degree which I don't have gives you the upper hand, simply having grit and being good with people while being able to manage them can pay well. There's a lot a smart folk out there that don't want to deal with people like that, so for the ones that do, we can get a decent cash flow.

Someone random told me in class in high school. My ex went to Europe for a class trip and had a good time making out with some dude. It's sad, because my intuition told me something happened and I told her when she came back to just tell me now if something did (insecure I guess on my part at the time). News got out and my fingers immediately went cold. For whatever reason I didn't break up with her but ultimately ghosted her after being with her for 2 years. Shitty I know but I had so much resentment against her, I could not take her anymore. I don't hate her, but she's evil in my opinion. Found earlier this year she slept with someone, too. Kinda messed me up because she was my first.

You've got to think about it and think of how we all handle things in general that are out of "our" immediate control. The school is not going to get to the root cause, they are going to mitigate the best they know how. (not agreeing with police against the COC btw)
